57 mpg

I hate to burst your bubble, but I highly doubt that you got 57 MPG overall for that trip. Can't really go by the mpg gauge in the GE because it is a little off. Never the less post up a pic of the fuel receipt with the number of gallons clearly marked out and the miles driven (if you haven't zeroed out yet) otherwise...

That would be pretty incredible if you did actually get that amount. I've filled up 3 times so far and I have gotten 28.5mpg, 37.85mpg (when I drove over to Mt. Fuji even with playing around on some winding roads) and last one was 27.6mpg. Normally in bumper to bumper city traffic, but I am very happy with anything over 25mpg.

19 fill-ups 30.4 MPG avg
I bought my 2009 Fit Sport automatic Aug 1, 2009. I have filled up 20 times. It looks like I didn't keep the record for one fill-up. But for the 19 I have the MPG is 30.4. Vast improvement over my 1997 Ford Explorer at about 17 MPG!

In my first truck I had a 7.4 454 it got six mpg I traded it in on the cash for clunkers and got my fit lol my hi milige car was a geo prism it got about 34 mpg and I gave it to my sister but it's amazing how good of milige I have gotten in this car the biggest thing I have noticed about mpg is tire pressure I try to keep mine at 40 psi it says max is 44 so I figured I'd play it safe also 99% of my driving is highway

I know I crused behind the big rigs and 113 miles of mostly strifht highway I filled up completly b4 I left and when I got there then I fill completly up when I got back and then I did the math I don't have the numbers now lol I thew the napkin away but I get around 50 crusing out twords Indio but when I go to Palmdale I get like 45

57 around town in a m/t Fit I can believe since there's a lot of engine-off coasting happening. Highway maybe if you have a lot of hills and are really aggressively hypermiling (OMG, I said the h-word!).
Best we've seen in our a/t Fit is right around 40.

I don't have a MPG computer on my Fit but I do use one of these @ every fill up. Since I've only been through one fill up so far, and all I got was 27 MPG 90% city driving. It still makes your 50 plus hard to believe though

I was getting about 52 doing 55 on cruise control through Louisiana for a trip...on country roads no stopping, no elevation changes.
But the entire tank was not like that so I didn't have proof. Made me feel good though.

Actually I can believe the 57 mpg claim. It's certainly achievable on a stock L15A.
I've already done 28.024 km/L (66 mpg) on my smaller-engined GD1 back when I still had my stock 14" wheels. No hypermiling at all, just a steady 62 mph on the highway, 40 mph on provincial roads...and even some overtaking and 70 mph on the highway going home. A/C was on and windows were up the whole time. Key to it is gentle acceleration and braking.
My GD1 has no fuel efficiency computer so I computed this purely by kilometers traveled/filled-up Liters of fuel.
Since replacing my wheels with 16s I haven't been able to repeat the feat

That's pretty sick figures T1. My best to date has been the trip over to Fuji. Even my trip over to Suzuka was only like 32mpg, but there was an instance where I hooked up with some other Hondas heading to Suzuka and I was hitting the speed limiter and just under for about 5km straight. Also the throttle controller was set at SP7, which is pretty much where it always resides.
I also noticed since going to the 205/50 from the 185/55 stockers the mileage has decreased somewhat. As said in my previous post, I'm happy with a return of 25mpg in the type of traffic I have to face each day.
I am keeping a spreadsheet that calculates my mileage after each fillup. So far after 10 fillups I am averaging 29.5mpg. My lowest tank so far has been 25.1mpg and this was all city traffic without expressway usage. Not bad at all really IMO, when you consider it takes me each morning and again in the evening about 30 minutes to go 8km (10mph avg speed).

People have already done much better than I have. I know some Pinoy already managed 30 km/L (70.8 mpg) and I think that was with hypermiling trickery already.
The point is the Fit can be coaxed into pulling really high fuel economy figures, although do note that fuel economy is highly variable on our cars.
Driving daily like I normally do though, I usually don't beat 12 km/L (28 mpg). Hahahaha!
@555sexydrive:
Personally, I've kept a little notebook inside the car and it documents almost every tank of fuel and almost every kilometer I've run since 2007. I still hit 12 km/L on trackdays in Subic, and 9 km/L on trackdays in Batangas.

9km/l on track is a very good number. This just reminded me of when I was on Okinawa with the 5R, when we would go touge running and the whole day would encapsulate about 250+km. All my friends would be sitting right near E on the gauge and my car would be sitting at the 1/2 mark. And it wasn't that I wasn't beating on the car, because I was always the lead car as I knew all the fun roads up North and was pretty much full tilt.
I know I will never see figures like 70mpg, I'll be really lucky to ever even see 40mpg and this is because I can not make myself drive the car in such a fashion to achieve it. Goes back to the other thread where I stated if the drive is boring, why drive and just take public transportation.

I'm not sure about 55+mpg but I think 50mpg is achievable although I have not done it but I think it can be achieved if hypermiling techniques are applied. The highest I got is 46mpg with lots of efforts and 45 just by strictly cruising at 50mph, slow acceleration, 40psi tire pressure and slow deceleration.
