Short supply
Hi guys,
First post here. I am interested in buying a new 2010 Fit Sport with manual if I can find one at a reasonable price. But there seem to be very few of them -- as in maybe three -- for sale here in Florida, so the dealers are asking over MSRP. Hard to believe in a recession, but I'm no expert.
Any suggestions? I'd like to buy a Fit , but not if it's excessively pricey.

I couldn't find one either when I was looking in April of 08

Well, that shows that it isn't just me. Sheesh. For a company that doesn't even make the Civic Si in auto, you would think they could at least make some more manual Fits.
Not sure what my next move is though. I called Honda and they said the dealers get their allocations once a year and that's it.

Yup, I had to go to three different dealerships to find a 5-speed, they only had a base model. But when I told the sales person I wanted to test drive it, he said they didn't have any manuals and was floored when I showed him the car! I didn't even bother trying to find a manual Sport, I'm happy with the base

Do you have any sense of whether the base is less agile than the Sport model? Looks like it has a slightly different suspension and smaller wheels.
Also, am I correct in understanding the base doesn't include a clicker? Can't remember the last time I turned the key to open a car door!

The bas has smaller, narrower wheels so it will not corner as well, and i do not think it has a clicker.... why would honda build to few MT Fits? although when i bought the Fit lack of an MT probably would not be a deal breaker... after learning MT i will not switch of to AT until i am physically unable to drive stick....
