Even if you try to stop them in the act, they tend to have bigger guns and know how to use them during a crime better than you. This is what they do for a living. Let them take the car while you call the police and your insurance.
Calm down chief. There's a smilie in there for a reason. BTW, multiple FBI statistics show that criminals are horrible shots and never practice, while I spend about 15-20 minutes a night dry firing my M&P and have over 2000 rounds put through it just this fall.

I know some people install a hidden switch for cutting off the fuel in the fuel line. No fuel, no start.

I like the fuel shutoff trick, but if they do manage to get to a position where it could be started, you've got bigger problems.

just remember no matter what you have on your car. if a

Care to explain how so? You are describing a thief as God.

These kinds of wheel locks, I don't see how they can cut it off easily...

I udnerstand the basics... about locking it and leaving it in well-lit places. I had my old car attempted to get stolen 3 times right near my house.

Ask your insurance agent what will get you discounts on your insurance.

Do a few back-of-the-napkin calculations on these improvements.

Install what you think will give you more security, and that which is fiscally reasonable.

In our case, we could get a discount if we installed some sort of vehicle tracking type system -- such as a lojack. Now, we didn't install one -- lojack is a bit expensive, but economic incentives are something to think about and base your decisions partially on.

Insurance has 500$ deductable.

By the way, will installing an aftermarket alarm void the warranty?

the way they do it is by cutting your steering wheel. they don't care
about a steering wheel cause that is replaceable. cut a section off
and the lock slide right off.

Theres a pretty neat little trick with using a pay as you go boost mobile phone hardwired for power and hidden under the dash you pay like $10 every six months to keep the phone active, then you can track the phone online. As long as its hidden well enough you shouldn't have an issue.

So you cut the top portion, it shouldn't be able to slide as the sides are curved.

I don't see it as being easy to take off by cutting. Even if your cut the steering wheel from both sides...

The baby monitor is a very good idea.

I had that on my del sol before. My brother in law installed it under the car(driver side). He also had it on his 2nd gen rx7 which they tried to steal at one point. It works and can be DIY mod.
