i'd be interested in having one if they were electric. my neighbour has one, he loves it, his is a diesel. i've ridden in it a couple of times, it feels no different than driving in any other small car until you look behind you. lol i think the excellent mileage that they get (55 mpg +) is offset by high maintenance costs ($110 for an oil change, they have to vacuum it out) and lack of usefulness. fwiw, they're likely just as safe as any other small car.
