Question small rubber thing???

I got my Fit last Friday, and when I got home I noticed a little rectangular black rubber-ish thing in the cupholder. It has two prongs, it's maybe 1" x 1.5". It looks like something I should keep, but does anyone have any idea what it might be used for? It almost looks like it could be a fuse puller, but I don't think so.
Thanks!

You're in luck. I just came across that today when I installed my cargo carrier. It is over the place where the bar fits into the slots. There are one on each side (obviously) that come out to insert the bar.

Thumbs up wow!

Wow, that was quick. Thanks! I'll check it out... Lovin' the Fit by the way. Well, except for the iPod music link. Other than that, beauty.

little rubber thing update...

So I went down to look at the cargo cover thing and both parts were there, so I thought the mystery would continue, but I was looking at the owners manual and happened to see a drawing of the rear view mirror (p.94) and there it was, clipped onto the bit that holds the mirror to the ceiling, and wedged between the windshield and the bar. Or in my case, it WASN'T there wedged in, but sitting in the cupholder. Now I guess the only question is what's it for? To cut vibration maybe? In any case it's back where it belongs.
Thanks!

It's to reduce vibration in the rearview mirror.

Apparently, all Honda dealers leave them in the cupholders when they install the cargo cover because that's where I found mine too!

Amazing the progress in the last 25 years. That looks like the exact same mounting system, down the the little vibration damper that was on my 1981 1500GL. My Civic is reborn, I am coming home...

I didn't get one of those, and I've noticed that when I have music up loud, my rearview mirror goes nuts. Gonna have to bitch at someone, I guess.

Perhaps this is temp. removed when they service the windshield seal in dealer prep? (there is a service bulletin on re-sealing the front windshield on new fits to reduce noise).
