Will my son fit in a Fit?
Wow - looks like I may be the only old fart "family guy" in this entire forum.
Anyway, we're shopping for a new Fit and we haven't been able to get out and test drive one yet, but one important consideration is whether our family of four will actually "fit" in the Fit!
My older son, who is a lanky 5'11" 15-year-old will occasionally have to sit in the BACK seat when the family is all together. Any Fit owners out there who have experience with tallish back seat passengers?

I have a daughter that is 5'10", and she has no problem whatsoever. She said that there was more room in the Fit than about anything that she had been in.
If he's the only one in there, put him in the passenger side, rear, and put the driver side rear in tall-mode. He'll have tons of room to stretch out!!!

I have no children yet but I have friends and my 6 foot tall buddy went camping with me and my fiancee and he had to sit in the back. He had plenty of room and was comfotable for an hour+ ride there and back.
I think your son should fit fine.

Unfortunately for him, he has to sit next to his little brother (who's 11 and will fit in anything).
We're downsizing from a Chrysler T&C minivan and we're worried about giving up all the room. On the other hand, we're thrilled at the prospect of doubling our gas mileage.
Thanks for the quick response

There's more room in the back seat of the Fit than there is in the Civic.
My husband is 6'7", not that he'll ever be in the back seat, but he did say it was roomier than a Civic. I don't think he could sit back there for hours, but for short trips, sure.

the backk seat has more room than other cars one would consider as "large". Your son will find no problem sitting in the back seat. By the way, I´m 5´10 and I have no problem sitting in the front, nor in the back seat.

He should fit reasonably okay; it will all depend on how tall the driver and passengers are and how far they push their seats back. I'm assuming a wife will be in the passenger seat, so I would make him sit in the rear passenger side seat.

If you're +/- 6', you'll be fine for road trips....just remember to stop off and smell the roses every now and then. Even for front passengers, you should get out and stretch your legs.....blood clots, anyone?

I have more room in the back of the Fit than in an Accord. In the Accord I have to sit with my chin on my chest so my head fits. The Fit has plenty of headroom. The Accord has a little more knee room, but you cannot tuck your feet under the seet - very nice.
