Smile Over 600 miles!

I went over 600 miles yesterday. Now that break in is finally over, I drove into work this morning on the freeway. At 80mph, the Fit is just as quiet, and maybe even more quiet, than my Solara. It was a nice ride.

You didn't get up to 80 during the break-in? Main break-in rules for engines nowadays are just no hard accelerating or breaking, and to downshift when breaking. After all, 80 in fifth is the same as 15 in first, no?

In the manual, the break in doesn't refer to RPM or speed. It just says first 600 miles, don't acc or brake too quickly. I have been driving on the freeweay already; i just don't accelerate too fast.

I will hit the 1000 mile mark tomorrow. I have had mine for about 9 days.

It is very unusual for me to drive less than 1400 per week, so I should start racking up the miles soon. It just happened that I had to travel for two days and four of the remainder of the 9 were weekend days.

Now I am sitting here trying to figure out how exactly I was able to put 1000 on!

I am at 653 and I get my windows tinted tomorrow. Every mile is a pleasure with this car, it is alot of fun to drive and for a 1.5 L it moves pretty good just keep the revs up a little.

I hit the 1,00 mark on the way to work! I've been pushing my Fit on the highway and it doesn't mind at all. Get a little annoyed at cars that ride alongside so the driver can stare at the car.

I had a guy on a motorcycle follow alongside for a mile or so, checking out the car yesterday. I didn't mind until I needed to change lanes. He kept matching my speed to look at the car, and I finally honked at him to let me over. He waved and sped off.
