Do you do anything special to "launch" your new car? Like how with ships they break a bottle of champagne over the hull... somehow that doesn't seem like a good idea with a car though!

I remember back when I got my very first car, a Saturn SL-1, in 1996... the salespeople parked my car on the display mound out front, took a Polaroid of me with it, and sang a little "new car buying" song to me. Crazy, lol.

 

yah, i just rev to 7000RPM and drop the clutch.

i dont do anything special. i do celebrate their annivarsaries with 'bday' presents... like small accessories and such.

 

...signed the papers...went to olive garden(horrible idea that day) n drove back home...bout it i guess. I like the rev n drop the clutch on the dealers lot though.

 

I relaxed in refresh mode for about an hour. Seemed fitting for the car.

 

I drove the wrong way on a one way street to check out the handling and steering response.... Then I got out of Dallas as fast as I could.

 

i simply just fart in it with all the windows up. it's like marking my territory.

 

Ok you have to remember that I had waited three months for my Fit and when I went on Tuesday to pick it up they had it parked under an protective covering all washed and detailed. I got in and drove off the lot all smiles and when I got a mile down the road bursted out shouting,'God I love this car!". I was so excited because this was my first Honda

Drop the windows and blare songs like "Highway to Hell", "I Am Gasoline", or some of that nature while driving around town like a nut.

 

I took a picture of the odometer-18 miles. I heard of a dealership that had a huge gong you got to hit when you closed on a car, but i already have one of those so its no big thing for me.

My mother-in-law said it was some sort of Polish tradition to throw a penny in the back of the car for good luck and gave my wife and me each a penny when she dropped us off to take delivery (becuase the battery on my Civic died literally an hour before we were supposed to go?!). Now there are 2 pennies on the floor in the back.

Oh yeah I forgot, when I truly "christened" the new car.

I moved my sister out of an apartment with it. Mattress etc went in the uhaul, I got the table and boxes and stuff.

 

You should just masterbate in it.
