Second thoughts on color?

So I've got a Fit on order, and today I suddenly started having second thoughts on what color I wanted. My current order is Blaze Orange...but today I started thinking about Nighthawk Black.

Pros of Orange:
* It stands out, making a unique (well, unique for SUV country where I'm driving it) car even more unique

But...I was thinking about Black, simply because I feel like it would look better with the minor body mods I want to do on it. Nothing too extreme, just want to make it a bit "meaner-looking". So, what are y'all's thoughts - orange or black? Or should I get something else?

Other issues: I called my dealer to give him a heads-up on the possible change, and he told me the Orange was harder to find. I would really like to have the car when I get home from school (May 17) so I can take it to see my high school roomie get married on the 20th.

But then, is orange going to be any easier to maintain? I realize dirt shows right up on the black...but wouldn't it be similar on the blaze orange?

Too true about the Black. Black shows dings and scratches really easily, also very hot in the sun. I put a deposit down on a Red LX. If the LX came in Orange, I would have gone for it. The next day I was thinking about the Pearl Blue, but I think I'll be happy with the red. I'm not a fan of silver.

Besides, the last 3 cars I bought were used, and all ended up being red.

Nissan Micra (gutless wonder)
Chev Sprint (cheap and fun, but I wore it out..)
'95 2door Ford Escort Hatch (I would keep, but the the impending baby says 2 door is a bad plan).

VBP FTW.....My first color choice was NHBP but I decided against it because being a certified detailer I told myself I would never own a dark colored car. Except for VBP

My first choice of color would be Rust Metallic if it came in that. I test drove a Storm Silver but I changed to the A-Silver when I noticed the Storm looked Grey. I still don't know If I would be happier with the Storm.

My reasons were based on nightime visibility and also vandal visibility. I would be always worried if I had a color that attracted thieves. There are so many silver cars out there that mine blends in. LOL

Others want to be seen and don't worry about the other. It depends on your location and your outlook.

Hands Down Winner !!! Come on Now!!!

Blaze Orange will be the premier opener color for the N.American side.It will distiguished the Sport as the top of the line model.I would've gone Taffeta White but it'll be another couple of years before it gets around up here in CANADA....so i opted for the Blaze as the second choice but in the Sport AT only. .

Cheers !!!

i like the blaze orange a lot...now. i'm zipping around in a black one - love the metallic blue fleck in the paint - and am SUPER happy. the car looks a little meaner in a dark color, i think. that...and i was afraid i'd wake up in three years and think "oh my god i have a bright orange car."

If I had to choose, I'd go with the orange. As stated by several others, it shows less dings, black seems to me to look dirty faster, and you'll be more unique with the orange.

I think the orange is a really nice shade. Normally, I wouldn't go near a yellow or orange car, but I was seriously debating whether or not I wanted to buy a Sport in that color. It's coppery. I overheard some dealers talking about wanting to sell it as 'Burnt Orange' to entice the UT Longhorn fans.

Black cars are a dime a dozen. Black cars are generally sexy, but different can be sexy, too. And black paint will look dingy and dusty far faster than an orange one.

Have you ever experienced a mishap where you walked up to a car you think is yours, but turns out it's a doppelganger? It's going to happen way more often with a black car.

The decision is ultimately up to you. If you don't think you'll be able to stand orange in a few years, then maybe black would be better.
