Crozewski's FIT has been vandalized TWICE already. And he's owned the car less than a single month. Let's cut him a break. After all, we are all members of this community.

I am willing to send Crozewski $5.00 of my own money through PayPal.

It's not much, but if everyone pitches in, it can amount to a decent sum. It will help to pay for some of the damages. Who knows... with the domestic fans getting more and more angry each month as GM and Ford slip further under, there could be a huge import backlash in the near future.

Ha! This is AWESOME. This is kinda like financial aid... but for the FIT! If vandalism happens to anyone else, I'd be willing to help too. But just in case there are unscrupulous individuals, we'll need a picture of the damage, with the license plate and a driver's license... the person can (and should) obscure all personal information, leaving just the matching state on the plate and license for verification.

Right and if the Fit that was vadalized was mine and someone started a similar thread I could not verify that it was me without a different means.

I understand... It's hard to make that transition from anonymous board posters, to real-live interacting individuals, without having to put some sort of safeguards in place. Any suggestions on how to handle it would be welcome.

I think we should all pitch in on a group buy on bubblewrap to swaddle our Fits in at night!

Guys, I've received numerous donations thus far. Again thank you to everyone. I wanted to assure you all that this money will be going right back into the repair of the Fit. I know if I were you all I would be slightly skeptical but I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you all know. Once I have all the funds wound up (which thanks to you all looks like it will be sooner rather than later) I'll be bringing the car to my trusted body shop. I'll be sure to post pictures soon as it's done.

 

I understand there is room to be cynical here, but I am using this as an opportunity to proof to myself that most people are honest and good. It's the odd asshole that gets all the press in this media-frenzied world, and therefore makes us all think everyone is out to get us. I hate that.

As I mentioned in the note with the donation, if you happen to get more than you need (I hope you do, that will help bolster my polyannic belief), put it toward a security system to catch that swine. If that happens, I will be one happy camper.
