I just got my Fit!!!!
I just got back from the dealer and I'm a new Honda sport automatic transmission with paddles Fit owner! I love it. I drove it back from the dealer (about 40 miles) . The ride home is pretty much up hill with varying grades and it cruises comfortably at 80 mph at 2900 rpms. I was going to get a manual, but I took the automatic for a drive and it sold me. It really seems pretty peppy to me. I'm not really a car person, but power seems pretty good. I've never been this enthusiastic about a car before.
I've done alot of research on my new car purcahase, and I don't think there is a better value out there than a fit, and I'm not quite sure why someone would want a 4 door Civic sedan when the Fit does so much more and seats 4 as well. I'll try to get some photos up later.

I think once the public finds out about the Fit, they will be very hard to get. People were looking at mine before I bought it and didn't have a clue about it.
What's cool is they had to throw in the cargo tray after I signed the paper that they wouldn't add or remove anything from my Fit after I signed the purchase agreement. The cargo tray was there during my test drive. So I paid MSRP and got the approx 100.00 cargo tray for free. I really don't think your going to see any significant discounts off of MSRP. The profit margin is very slim.
My dealer said they'll be calling me before May 25th and asking if I want steak or chicken for a service personnel and owner dinner, kind of a meet and greet for the Fit, very cool. I think I'm becoming a car person.

That is all leading up to the final test. How does your music sound in the worst acoustic enviroment imaginable which is of course your car. I have two listening enviroments for this test, our 06 Honda Ridgeline and now my Honda Fit. I spent a good part of my day listening to Liz Phair in the Fit, and I think it has a very good factory system. I think the Ridgeline is better by a little bit. My aim is to get stuff to sound good on good factory systems so the Fit is the perfect representation of that. I would have no interest in some pricey audiophile car stereo. Bottom line, the fit has a very good audio system.
When your acoustic enviroment is crap such as in a car, the best sound is probably obtained by cutting out the sound reflective middle man ie; the glass and all the weird refective surfaces and pipe it directly to your ears via head phones. My 2 pennies anyway.

I know, I still haven't answered your question .

Anyways, back on topic - nice to know that the stereo is decent. I was planning upgrades in that area, but that's not such an immediate priority now.

Not a big fan of Sony - I prefer the Grado SR 60s for home use, and I'm currently using shure e3c earbuds for street use (what a nice birthday gift). At $100, the Grados are generally suggested over the Sonys
Head fi is the place to check out - those guys are more serious into headphones than most of the internet.

Good to hear about the stereo. When I test-drove a Fit, I actually didn't listen to it -- I forgot a CD (I never listen to radio) and the car didn't have an iLink; I usually listen to my iPod in the car.
I just reserved our blaze orange AT Sport today. It was time to retire the '99 Subaru Forester. (Although my Subie Outback is definitely staying!)
