Old steelies with center caps
Am I the only person that wishes the Fit base came with steelies with the big center caps like back in the day? I would much rather rock these with flat black steelies than the stock alloys or hub caps.

I was trying to get one off a steelie from a 93 Civic hatch in the salvage to see, but I couldn't get the damn wheel off the axle (many years of rust on those lugs). I wanted to see if they would fit. The actual steelies they came with are only 13's, and I don't wanna be seen on 14's as it is. Unless I had those center caps

Are those the 14 steelies? I would paint a set of 15'' steelies from a GE8 if I could find them on the cheap. I was planing on just rolling black steelies and dump my money into awesome tires. My Fit if NHBP so black alloys on a black car look like steelies from a distance anyway.

Steelies and baby moons...
...I think I just had an LSD flashback.
I dunno about that look on the Fit. On the one hand a clean, simple look can be sexy. But in the case of the Fit the rest of the car and its lines may be too busy to pull it off. It might look good on a lowered car with the windows were tinted to match their surrounds.
The other time I think steelies are hawt is winter. Darn near any car sporting steelies and gnarly winter treads looks desirable when the snow is flying. To me, anyway.

I'm going to try to restore the 14x5 +50 steelies leftover from my old civic for winter tires. Don't want hubcaps, they get in the way when sticking a long screwdriver through the holes to knock off ice buildup.
Centercaps would be darn nice so the axle nuts aren't exposed for everyone and their mother to see, not to mention the road salt getting all up in the threads.

Decent as in looking better IMO than the stock base model hubcaps. Not show car worthy or jawdropping by any means, but they can look good if done right.

I was over looking at the baby moons and beauty rings here:
Baby Moon Center Caps Stylish Look, Great Prices, AutoAmenity
I was looking into these too, racing disks:
Full Moon Racing Disc Hubcaps, Stylish Look, Great Prices, AutoAmenity.com
I like the look of the steelies with beauty rings and center caps. On my old car, I took off the aftermarket crap and went back to the original Rally wheels. Which are steelies with a chrome center cap and a chrome beauty ring, all of the images here have those Rally wheels and they look great! (in my opinion):
Corvettes 1968-1982 For Sale
Why Honda or aftermarket places don't have these options immediately available, I have no clue. It looks good. It's practical.

I found a set of 4 at the salvage yards this weekend and they fit on the 14'' base steelies. Now I need to paint the steelies black and repaint the center caps; the are all chrome at the moment since they've been in a salvage yard for like 10 years. I'll try to get some pics up once it stops raining outside. Stupid midwest rain.
Best of all, they cost me a mere $Free.99!!!!

I swiped a beautiful black fit from the photo section and did a quickie paste job of both kinds of wheels.
(edit, I had removed the photos from my flickr page, so they disappeared from here too)
Because that is a PERFECT shot for trying out various wheels.
Admit it. Those wheel covers on a steelie look pretty darned good. At a fraction of the price of custom wheels.

Do these fit under the lug nuts or do they attach to the center opening in some way?
