Question about the 'nose' of the 2007 fit
Is it me or does the nose of the new 2007 fit seems kinda elongated? Looking at some of the pics of previous Fits/Jazzes in the forums, some of them have a shorter nose.. can anyone verify this?

Us Fit is 4.5 inches longer in front and 1.5 inches longer in rear than the other versions and; yes, it does give the car an awkward, nose heavy look. This is one of my major disappointments with the looks of our version.

One of the issues with the rest-of-the-world version is you basically have no idea where the front of the car is. Although it's so short, it's probably not that far ahead of your feet. For you who have the U.S. Fit already, is it better? Can you actually see the front of the car? If so, the longer schnoz could have benefits beyond the added bump protection.

Not really that bad in person
After seeing the Fit last week for the first time in the flesh, I have to say the larger bumpers (front & rear) are really not that bad.
For some reason it looks worse in pics...but in person I found the Fit to look perfectly fine as is. Even the "sport" body kit that I had my doubts about looked pretty good. I've noticed that even some of the aftermarket kits (over seas) tend to "elongate" the front bumper a bit.
I think the N/A version now has it's own distinct personality.

I like the look of the shorter bumpers, but what can you do.
In response to the previous comment, I couldn't see the front of the US fit at all, but I'm only 5f5. If I end up getting one I will have to practice with some markers until I get it right.

That's weird because I'm only 4' 11'' and I can see out of it better than my 2002 Civic. I like the fact it sits up higher than my '90 Civic HB. I loved that car, but you sort of had to climb down into it. I just found out today, though, it's a lot taller than my '90 Civic HB. I almost can't put stuff on top of the car when I get in or out. I also I'll have to be careful I don't let the hatch go all the way up or I'll never get it down.

I have the same problem. I'm 5'4, i can't see the nose, but thing is, the nose is short so the nose is very steep. The rule of thumb i used is that my line of sight is almsot straight down the top of the nose. So for me, if i can't see the tires of the car in front, it means i'm too close
Funny note, one time i was backing out of a parking lot, and my bro (who is a better driver than me) sai d"watch out! the curb!" and i drove backwards 2 more feet and i wasn't even close to the curb haha. but this is the back. i think the front can result in similar stories.
Today i parked in a garage. What i do for any car is turn on the parking lights. The physic sof light, when its fasr its "blurrier". When light source is close to the wall, the light is "sharper" and more defined. Plus, the fit is short. the moment u worry how close u are, just take key out of ignition : ). When i first parked in my garage i tried to get aas close to the car in front as possible. when i left the car to seee my park job, i realized there was ton of space in the back.

Just drove around in a rented Thailand Jazz that I will have until Saturday. I am really convinced this is the car. Last night, I parked in my g/f's parking garage. They have some pretty small spots. I parked in between another Jazz and a Toyota Corolla. There was oodles of space between all the cars. We both just looked at all the extra room and laughed.
Pardon me for opening old wounds, but the CVT on the Fit is really cool. It actually has three modes: Full auto, a middle sort of auto, and almost fully manual. If you hit the manual mode button, it will shift on its own through the seven "gears" until you hit one of the paddle shifters. After using the paddle, you are in control, except if you forget to downshift while stopping at a tollbooth (due to a couple after golf beers), it will do that for you. Really neat, but I still prefer the full on manual.
