I really like the car and I knew about the car when it first came out in japan, but the bad thing about the fit is so damn expensive for wat it is u know I got a quote fora base one at 16470 drive out.

If you're looking for performance or something to get big power gains from...this isn't the car for you IMO. Get the new Civic Si for about $5-6k more. I see the Fit as a great daily driver. It can haul a lot for its size, it's very fuel efficient and it's a Honda so you know it'll be reliable. The car does handle well, but if you're not looking to do an engine swap, I can't see buying this car to build for big performance. It's not exactly light either. With all that said...I still LOVE this car and I'm seriously considering selling my '05 STi to get one as things in my life have changed a lot lately. Financially I would save close to half the monthly payment every month, less $$ for gas and nearly $400 less a year on insurance.

Agree with Bounty Hunter for the most part. If performance is what you're looking for (or the potential for performance), this car's not going to satisfy you.
I hope I'm not prying, but why exactly is repairing the RSX not an option? Damage to the front didn't look terribly bad...

I agree for the most part with the other members who have posted so far that this car isnt the most performance oriented car. It is not a Civic Si or RSX-S but its also lighter then both of those cars. Given that fact, it wont take as much engine modification to make this a relatively quick car, not a 13 sec car but quicky nonetheless for what it is.
It really depends on what you want from this car, if it is going to be your daily driver then it would be a great car for that. If you want to use it as a dual purpose car, daily driver and a weekend track car then it can easily be that also. But if you want a car with serious speed out of the box or even after modifications, then you more then likely wont get that from this car short of a engine swap.

i bet you we will see a big change in the car before 2008, but not the abandonment of it.
