Fit Ride and Drive
Just got back from a Honda Ride and Drive for salespeople in Cincinnati,Ohio. Very Informative event. Got to directly compare on a small tight road course with the Scion XA and Chevy Aveo. In all the salespeoples opinions, the Fit was the cream of the crop. The Scion XA was second best, too much body roll, but good steering and brakes. The Chevy Aveo was a distant third with sloppy handling, lots of body roll, vague steering and mushy brakes. One of the Fits was a stock sport and the other had the optional Honda 16" rims with 205/45 tires, these made a lot of difference in steering response, handling and braking. The Fits received quite a flogging from all the people. They held up well with only some rubber and brake wear. Love the paddle shifters, nearly instantaneous response to the next gear, pretty much designed goof proof too,ie trying to downshift at highway speed to lower gear than safe it won't downshift until speed reduced to safe for tranny and motor speed. The magic seats work great. One part of the class was to see how much of the stuff they had on hand could be crammed in. They had a bicycle, golf clubs, boogie board, large box, assorted tools etc. It was amazing how much would go in. Highly recommended car. Check it out for yourself. joefit
