Fit SI

Honda should build a Fit SI model. Here's my suggested specs:

Engine : some high-revving 1.6l motor. Derived from K-Series?
Power : 170hp and 130tq, while still returning low 30's HWY MPG.
Transmission : 6 speed from RSX-S with LSD.
Suspension : Lower, stiffer, thicker swaybars.
Brakes : Bigger Vented Discs up front, disc rear.
Wheels : Lightweight, forged 15x7 wheels with 205/50/15 sticky rubber.
Interior : Alcantara seats with more bolstering.
Exterior : More agressive bumpers (slightly).
Lighting : HID.

Price : $18k.

Positive : Cheap, Quick, Good Fuel Economy
Negative : The only downside I can think of is it "might" hurt Civic SI sales because this car would just do everything better.

Good luck trying to get all that for 18k and you can forget about the lightweight forged wheels, the S2k doesnt have forged wheels much less a Fit.

Ya it is around 20k but the differences in specs from your wishlist and the current Fit is too large to only cost 3k more then a current Fit.

Question

One wonders if the new R-series engine block found on the 2006 Civic fits (pun intended!) into the Fit without major rework of the hood like Mugen had to do with their K20-powered Fit....

I'd be pleased if they offered the L series similar to the D15b with dual stage vtec. It could be in the 145hp range easily and still return very similar fuel economy, without a ton more expense to the car. Just add a 16" HPF wheelset and slightly stiffer springs!

Your never going to find a cheap honda with HID's, lol, but mine will have them as soon as i can afford bulb's for my HID kit from my 89 civic si, which might be about a year from now, lol.

L15 DOHC Vtech-i 150hp, Bigger sways, 16 lightweight wheels, Upgraded front rotors, LSD optional, race-inspired seats, weight reduction (ala Two-door).

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

I like the idea of sticking with the L series motor here, it will allow for all of the original GD3 parts to carry right over.

My additions to this list would be:
Rear discs
Sport tires

Other then that, AWESOME!

Or better yet give us a turbocharged version of the L15 with about 160hp plus all the things listed above

A K20 on a fit I think is possible, I have heard of people installing them in the Jazz conterparts in the Philippines. I found this one though its in Cali. Is that a K20 in a fit??? hmmm....looks like it...

If you all want a "race" car, buy something else. Why put thousands of dollars into a Fit to make it semi fast?

Because some people can.... those who would spend big amounts of $$$ most probably have the money and enjoying doing it. Some people also choose to do it for their own personal satisfaction and they have the money. "To each is own".
