So, I just wanted to know if anyone has called your Fit a "cute" car? And if so does that annoy you a little? I know for me it does a little because I don't really see it as a cute car. I've had two different people call it that already.

 

hahah you better get used to it because a LOT of people think it's a cute car.

 

i think my 08 looks like a rat and my 09 looks like a mouse

so yah, both are cute cars, i guess. but then my MINI's even cutAr with more of a comic flare.

BUT, i think the new FX35's from Infiniti are extremely luvable looking cute SUV's.
they look like whales.

 

A guy at a gas station said "hey man that's a cute car you have there, what is that?." And yeah, it annoyed me because i thought he was being sarcastic. But it turns out he was being serious and actually liked the car.

 

I'm afraid the way our headlights slope down sometimes looks like a baby porpoise batting its eyes at you. It's impossible for a GD to not be called cute unless it's way too riced out. Even then...

 

I guess after reading some of the responses, I don't feel so bad. I guess when someone says it to be sarcastic is a lot different than when someone says it being kind and serious.

 

most people who have called my fit cute honestly mean it. so i guess its not bad. i'm a bit of a nerd and its a nerdy car so it suits me.

 

It is cute. No getting around it. If they're being sarcastic, you can just be smug, knowing that you've got a better car than what they're driving.

 

Apparently the general public sees it as cute and that's why they abuse us in traffic. I don't see drivers abusing an Elise or a Vette for example.

 

thats true, but elises and vettes are exotic enough to catch peoples attention in the right way, and are fast enough out of the box to not get abused. (the elise is awesome, but im pretty sure you would still fare better in the fit if you were to crash.)

 

i think you're just driving too slow. i've never been abused on the streets in my FitS.

 

Personally, I prefer 'saucy' or 'audacious' to 'cute', but cuteness may be in the eye of the beholder. The 'cute' label may be more readily laid upon those Fits in nervy colors, like our Orange Revolution. Some cars, like the Lexus LS460 or Bimmer 7 Series, are just too darn serious to ever be seen as cute. I can make comparisons to women: there are some women, with a spiffy, elegant and mature look whom I might see as very attractive, but whom I would never refer to as being cute.

 

One of my ex-girlfriends saw my car yesterday and said it was cute. I said it might be now, but wait until I'm done with it. It's gonna look mean. I LOVE the all black look a la NBP, tint, and black rims with or without the polished lip.

 

It all depends on your location. LA drivers to me are the worst in the country, especially since there are more cars here than anywhere in the country. Even if I drive say an hour away from LA, there's a noticeable difference in driving. Much more sane once you get away from the "city".

 

Oh, and it's not that I'm driving slowly. I can be sitting at idle in traffic and a woman in an SUV will come from the back of the line and aggressively cut in front of me, squeezing herself between me and the car in front of me which is all of 5' from my front bumper, all while we're all stopped. Why not another car? Oh, and let's not forget, they'll get angry if you honk for that.

I can tell you many stories since I owned this car on abuse. And I can point out examples in my daily driving that will illustrate the opposite - cars won't even honk at SUVs that'll sharply cut them off and make a U turn in front of them while you wait. If it were a Fit, not only would they get honked at, but they'll do threatening things like get out of their car or won't wait for you and go around you fiercely or threaten to bump your car. Not that I did this, but it's just an example.

 

LOL! yes my Fit has been called cute before but thats only cuss girls thinks its cute... i ask them why do you guys think its cute... and they said something like cars being cute means cool for guys... so i guess so =P they evne call S2K, 350Z, any cars cute =P it does annoys me but i guess its not bad when girls call my car cute =)

 

Yup, everyone calls it cute. As for driving, I've had to change my habits. (used to drive an f-150)

With the f-150 I did the squeeze merge method. Ie. Right of way goes to merging lane. With the Fit, I simply have to cut in front of them before forced merger.

Very few people tail me or cut me off now.

 

Most of the guys on this site say that girls call their cars cute. I guess that is the great thing about being a girl because most the guys tell me they think the car is cool which I like alot better than cute! LOL! One guy on our local car forum saw my car as I was driving home from work one night and sent me an e-mail saying, gosh your car is so small!

Yeah, the Fit is cute. You'll just have to get used to it. If it bothers you, why did you buy such a "cute little car"?
