Unhappy Hit and Run by F-350 Today!

So I'm sitting at the stoplight on my way home from work, light turns green, I get going...as I reach the middle of the intersection, a HUGE SUPERDUTY F-350 comes from my left out of nowhere (he not only ran the red but went into the other side of the road in order to get through the intersection, hitting me and an accord in the process), going perpindicular traffic-wise and to my left, snagged my front end on its huge ass wheel hub which in turn dragged my moving car to the right for a couple feet then he proceeds to do the same thing to the 2009 accord in the other lane to my right and during all of this he was so floored that his car was skidding out through the intersection.

This all happened so fast that my car actually seemed to spin on the spot once it snagged his right rear wheel. That wheel tore my front end up pretty hardcore

Best of all, no plate AND the cops still haven't found him and it's been 3 hours, maybe they will?

My front end is all ****ed up, the bumper is almost split in half, the reinforcement bar got totally creamed on the passenger side right down to the frame it attaches to, my passenger side fender got bent outward, my hood is mangled toward the front, and the passenger headlight is smashed and cracked, and one of my fog lights skyrocketed from the point of impact to someones Hyundai and smashed the windshield surprisingly hard, like a full base ball bat swing of damage!!!

Called in the claim, definitely a good couple thousand there if not more.

Now I gotta scrounge up $1000 for my deductible...ugh.

Update: Added pics from adjuster.

I've inspected it really carefully and took the bumper and fender off it looks like my frame is A-OK which is what I was hoping for, the reinforcement bar really took it good and it looks like it will unbolt from the frame (WHEW) but all the same it looks like easily over $5000 at a body shop.

I am going to buy the bumper/fender/headlight/foglights/hood and fix it myself. It's guess it's not really so bad since this gives me a chance to go aftermarket with the parts that got damaged...

Glad you're alright, that is just insane! A few feet ahead and it may have been a different story, good thing the Fit is slow.

Did it look like he took any damage or did he only scrape his wheels? Any pics of the damage to your car?

Man, poor Hondas always get it. How was the Accord driver?

He drove off right away so I couldn't really tell but from what I saw before he hit me and a few glances after I think just his single HUGE aftermarket dually wheel hub that stuck out at least 8 inches from the big part of the duallie that already sticks out from the already wide body of the F-350 took any damage. I felt a momentary snag of connected mass during the crash which is what whipped my car around.

Car was going from my left to my right accross the intersection----->

I really thought about the crash and looked at it and his hub was scraping into the plastic as it went in front of me and tenths of a second later I felt the whole car jolt hardcore because it snagged right in the plastic dug out spot for the tow hook, where it literally ripped the bumper in half and shot the fog light flying, bent the passenger fender out, and broke all the mounting points for the headlight.

The new 09' Accord that got hit next to me definitely needed a new bumper too but it wasn't nearly as bad, we actually tapped each other on the fenders during the whole thing but we both looked at the damage and scoffed, we both knew we already had deductibles to pay for this a$$hole.

Still nada, I guess I'm not really expecting them to catch him at this point...still, I would knock him out cold, on the spot.

Actually my fit is stock except the intake and spins out on dry pavement if you floor it now, it didn't do that when I bought it. I think the acceleration is not bad at all, all things considered...the 09 fit acceleration definitely took a hit though IMO. But, at the time of the accident I was driving normally, me and the accord were side by side...

I am getting my bosses DLP camera tomorrow so yes I will definitely have pics.

The good news is I that I get to drive the 2009 Acura TL company car.

wow, sorry but glad that you are alright, a car is replacable but not you.

thats why i hate lifted trucks in general especially the guys who drives it around here in my area, they dont have respect for other drivers on the road, they switch lanes with no signal nor they give you the right of way either, they are just plain dickheads (well most of them) and when they are behind you and starts to tailgate you or when they forget to RE-AIM there lights when they lift the truck which causes you to be blind oh and did i say when they PARKED right next to you, i almost got head chopped off once by a BRAH!!! soon as i got off my car argghh..

i was in a parking garage where the cars are facing each other in the middle. i parked in the middle and i came there was a lifted truck parked in front of me and his bumper was on my hood. he didn't even bother backing up or anything. he scractched the paint a little, so i accidently spilled oil on his car and left a foot print dent on his car door.

Glad your safe man, it could have been worse especially with a huge truck like that.

I got into a similar accident last summer with my lude at the time. A couple landscaping guys in a truck with a mower trailor in the back snagged my front bumper and completely ripped it off. I was told that if the trailor is wider than the actual truck then it's illegal.

dang, sorry to hear but glad you're well enough to write about it here. not that im saying it's not bad enough, but i could've been worse.

that sounds like attempted manslaughter on at least 2 counts.
hope the police finds the guy and takes appropriate measures.

sounds like a $8K+ damage from your post.

Lol @ revd's story.

So your airbags didn't deploy Tek? Probably would have been totaled out if that happened.

That looks really clsoe to what happened to mine. My repair was for front center beam, front bumper, front left quarter panel, and two new headlights, plus paint and labor, for 3K.
