2009 Fit rebates?

Is there any way of knowing when (if) Honda will have rebates for the 2009 Fits? When I bought my truck a $2,000 rebate can out a month or two later, and I would hate for the same to happen with this purchase. I am looking to buy within a month or so, but could wait until the end of the summer if their will be rebates.

I doubt there will be ANY rebates.

You rarely see rebates on Hondas...

oh really.. this will be my first honda, I didn't know they don't do rebates. That is disappointing, good thing the fit is relatively cheap to begin with. The dealers around me have a lot of fits in stock and I have NEVER seen a fit (any year, not just the new ones) on the street, so hopefully I will be able to get a good deal.

If they are not in high demand in your area they certainly are in others. Your dealer will simply swap them out to another dealer for other more popular cars in your area. I have never seen a discount for the Fit. I guess Honda is running some kind of fianancing incentives for some of the others finally, but nothing too special. Honda is based on reputation of quality and reliability and doesn't have a need to lure in people as much since they have such a loyal customer base.

It's not a domestic. Honda and Toyota don't have trouble selling cars because they have established their reputation for building excellent cars that hold their value and last very long.

Domestics can't sell their cars right now because their reputation is subpar quality and subpar reliability. They've burned consumers too many times going after the almighty dollar. It's probably too late for them to survive.

In Canada, Honda, was offering ,$1000. off if you already owned a Honda and $500.00 off if you went with a MT (this discount is gone, but I think the $1000 is still around). With the dealer discount I paid about $2200. off of list, and got my choice of Honda stuff, (Mats etc.) at dealer cost. There was no dealer admin. fee or any hidden charges. I was quite surprised at the deal. I was leaning towards buying a Vibe/Matrix, but the Fit was almost $2000 cheaper then the Vibe, even with all the GM discounts, and all of the 2009 Matrix 1.8 MT were gone, and the 2010 were way more.

We still pay too much here in Canada compared to the US, and our Fits are different. We have 3 models DX, LX, Sport.

Yeah, I have heard of the Honda loyalty discount, but I don't own a Honda, so that wont help.

I just bought my Fit about a 1.5 months ago and they didn't have any specials, rebates, dealer incentives, etc. 3 weeks ago, I was in the market for another new car. I was looking at Toyotas and Hondas. All Toyota models have $500-2000 customer rebates. All Honda models have $500-1500 dealer incentives, EXCEPT for Fits. Fits don't have specials of any kind.
