Scratch help

Sound kind person hit the side of my car with their door, it looks like a scratch to the clear coat, I have an 09 Fit Sport, Storm Silver, the scratch is white and don't feel any indents.

What's the best method to remove this?

if it is only clear coat, your lucky, you can try a product like scratch-X or bring it to a detail shop, and see what they can do, if its just a matter of buffing it out it should not be very expensive....

In my experience, most shallow scratches or scuffs in clear coat will buff right out with a mild polish. I like Meguier's "Deep Crystal Polish" for this purpose. I put a bit on a clean flannel cloth and hand buff out the scratch. Don't use a circular motion or you'll see swirl marks. Buff straight back and forth. The Fits paint is quite soft, and the Deep Crystal will buff out the scratch in a few strokes, so don't overdo it. I've buffed out a couple of scratches on mine this way, and the one nice thing about the soft paint is that it does shine up very easily. Good luck.

The scratch is white, so I am assuming it's clear coat. I'll give Scratch-x a try and if it doesn't work I will get a quote for a body shop. Thanks.

I may even pick up the Meguiar's deep crystal car soap as well.
