~*~*The Official Invoice Price Thread*~*~
...this is not for MSRP prices,... and it's also not for the people that have the money and the will to agree to terms w/o the invoice. ;O)
It's for the long awaited invoice price of the Honda Fit (both models, manual and automatic), and the people that need them.
I still see no official word on ANY of the models' invoice prices,...but when one or some of them are found, please post them here!

I'm trying to get my deposit back from my local dealer because I found a better deal on financing (only 3.9% APR) from my credit union with the stipulation that I purchase for a selected dealer in the Washington DC area. She totally tried to talk me out of it, saying that she would match the APR, even though there is no way she can. She ended up telling me that they only mark up the cars $800. That means that invoice price is only $800 below MSRP. I was shocked to find out that it was so little. So MSRP is not as much of a rip off as with other vehicles...I guess.

Don't be so gullible.

I probably could have left out the "don't be gullible" part, but my intention was to hopefully help you avoid being misled.

US$800 would be inline with the A$1,000 that the Australian Honda dealers make. Then on top of that here is pure profit dealer delivery ie. vehicle prep charge - very expensive car wash of A$1,500.

Here in Canada I believe there is a 6% duty on all cars that are built outside of the NAFTA countries, meaning the Japan-made Fit has a 6% federal tax hammered into it. Obviously this reduces the margin for the 07 model. When Honda moves production North America, this means they can earn another 6% while keeping MSRP constant. For Canada anyway. I have no clue what, if any, duties there are in the US

No word on invoice price itself, but pahondadealer is willing to make a deal - 300 off msrp if we can get 5+ people together to buy from his dealership. You'd have to fly up here, but if you flew Southwest I'm sure there's some savings left.

Hi Dougiepants, do they tax on the MSRP or (MSRP + Destination)?
