Exactly as above. I have enough cash to pay for a fit OTD or I could use that as a down payment and buy an Evo, Used M3 or something similar.

I would love to buy a 09 WRX but the engines are all blowing up so that's out.

i love the new wrxs. The fit is great and practical, but if you want the power of the wrx, i'd wait.

pay cash for fit then every month add whatever mod you'd like instead of making a car payment. Unless you really want the extra power or a sportier car you should just save untill you have enough, why pay intrest on something that depreciates in value?

I love the new WRX too but until Subaru figures out their bearing issue I'm not touching one. I can't imagine what that's gonna do to their resale value.

If you don't have to, don't.

Get the Fit, pay the cash. No monthly payments rule!

I financed mine. Took the cash I had and invested it instead. I then watched the market tank, then sat in the corner weeping, cursing, and talking to myself.

Wow...I actually wasn't aware of the engine issues on the WRXs. Thanks for the heads-up. I went back and forth a bit like you're doing when I opted to buy the Fit. I decided to pay cash for a new car rather than buy an older one (specifically, I wanted an '06 WRX STi). Better gas mileage and reliability from the Fit, so that's the direction I went.

Ok the new evos suck i love the VIII and 9 but the 10 is like a fat pig. Um lets see i went from a evo VIII to the fit now i traded it in for a S2K CR. I really miss the fit and the lower car payment/gas cost. Besides that i love my CR. Depends what u want but for me after this cr i have come to realize i will never buy brand new again why pay that much brand new when i can get the same model a year older for alot cheaper. My cr i just payed 35k for it right now its worth 25k for trade in i already lost 10k. Buy a slightly used fit for cheap and save the extra money for something else. Once again don't buy new its a waste of money for something that will only loose value every year buy 1 or 2 years old and save a ton of money whished i would have done this with my CR now im paying $600 a month for something that is just loosing value every year. but this is going to be a car i really will keep for ever and one day will be a collectable hope this helps u out

Now also think about this. U could buy a used evo for around 15-20k used and a used fit as a DD. Best of both worlds

When it comes down to costs, I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a devaluating cheap car, rather than a devaluating expensive car.

Also, if anything was to go wrong with the evo or M3, it's going to be costly to fix compared to the fit.

Agreed, especially the case with any Evo. That's a lot of CV joints to check...not to mention Evos have a pretty bad reputation here of eating their woefully inadequate stock clutches.

Yea any thing on the evo is expensive its all from japan and AWD is expensive to maintain. clutches go around 65k or less. Most people have problems with transmissons or T-Case. I only replaced my clutch on my evo which cost me $1600 with install and that is cheap.

Really think about it a used car saves u a ton and its already lost the most value it will loose.

i was thinking what i wanted... fit, or the 09 imprezza, and the 170 hp motor felt slower then the 110 hp fit. i believe they run similar in the 1/4 too, but i'm a honda guy.... it didn;t feel right being in the subie
