It reminds me of my old 1992 Honda Civic VX hatchback that was crushed by a government van while parked. I loved that car, now I've finally found its reincarnated self with 4 doors.

And I've always liked Suzuki's cars. Anyone here ever drive a Cappucinno? If they sold them here, that's what I'd own.
This may be the first real Suzuki performance car we've ever gotten, although the last-gen Swift Sport was a fun ride too, it was no Alto Works or EA21R.
Suzuki ftw, although I'm still very excited about the Fit.
In other news, I've been seeing Yaris sedans driving around finally, and I got to sit in one, and I've got to say....they're not half bad. The Yaris doors close like a bank vault, and aside from shifter placement, the interior wasn't bad. Granted, this one was stickering for $16k+, and it still wasn't as nice as a base Fit interior.

The overall interior quality of the Fit is probably best in class but I wasnt happy with the front bucket seats, not as supportive as id like. Also after sitting in the car for a few mins, I got the feeling it wouldnt be the most comfortable car for long trips as far as the seats go not ride quality. I also sat in a Yaris the other day and I do have to say I liked the seats in it better then the Fit. Not saying its better built or worse then the Fit but just liked how it contoured the body better, better side bolsters to keep you better planted.

There is a lot of misinformation in this thread.
First off, the Suzuki Aerio is NOT a rebadged Daewoo. In fact it, along with the XL-7 and Vitara, are the only non-Korean-made Suzukis in the U.S. The Aerio is made in Japan.
Next, the Swift is not coming to the U.S. Instead, we are getting the SX4:
This car is based on the Swift chassis, will have an AWD option and will be more powerful than the Japanese/European Swift.
Finally, the new Swift is not based on the Echo/Vitz. However, I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong, so if you find proof that it is, I'm always willing to learn something new.

That WRC SX4 looks very Peugot like, way more European looking then Japanese, very nice nonetheless though. Now that I look at it it reminds me alot of the Skoda currently competing in WRC, not as wide but the front resembles the Skoda alot.

I was just in Japan and I have to say I love the Suzuki Swift Sport. Pictures don't do it justice. It has a really great shape and stance. It is indeed very mini inspired and at only 14k or so it's a great deal. If the Fit sells well we can only hope it makes the trip over to the US of A. 
I know I would love to have one in addition to my Fit. Then again if the VW GX-3 is given the green light I could pass on the Swift.

all things being equal, i'd buy a vw or a used mini before even looking at the fit. the swift looks good too. but i want my next car to last be 15 years or 225K (whichever comes first) with no major repairs. best chance of that ain't with a suzuki or anything else but a honda (or toyota i guess).
