We're looking at cars and have identified the Fit as our most probable purchase at its price point. However, we could comfortably spend more.
So, for you Fit owners who shopped around a bit, what would you have bought if your budget had been twice as much as what you actually paid for your Fit?

Maybe a Prius. To get that ecological thing going on. But I've heard they're not as fun to drive as a Fit (I have a Base, but it still handles really well and I love the ). Also, I've always wanted a Honda, and I really need the Fit's utility. If I had more $$, maybe I just would've gotten the Sport w/Navi, for the VSA. Anyway, still waiting to hear more news on the possible Fit Hybrid. . .

In its class, the Fit is it. Nothing better IMO. Now we have a need for a road trip warrior, to travel in comfort with AWD, a little power and more room. We have a '98 CRV that's on it's last legs and really, it doesn't really have the passing power on the highways that I'd like. I'm looking at a Volvo XC70 or maybe a Pilot, but those are very pricey. I think the new Rav4 might fit the bill - fast, AWD, optional 3rd row for kids = looks good for the cross country road trips.

if i had more money i would have bought an STI, held out for the g37 sedan, g8 gxp, or the new cts-v sedan.. i <3 my four doors
if GM tanks, i hope i could get my hands on a cts-v sedan for pennies

You know..... there are aftermarket flux capacitors. They're dirt cheap, you can find them at Pepboys.

I'm glad I went with the Fit. There are many cars that I love but wouldn't necessarily want to own. I was looking at the VW GTI's, but just couldn't get myself to buy German. If I had a $35K range budget I would buy a Lexus IS 350 in Tungsten Pearl. Classy, comfortable, and quiet is my target.

Cargo Capacity - CR-V, Pilot, 4Runner, XC-90, etc.
Fun - G37/370Z, used M3, used S2K w/KWSC, Mini-S
Gas Mileage - Prius, Insight (wait for it), Jetta Diesel
Or. . . You could get a GD3 and all all of the goodies you could want; full suspension (coilovers, RSB, etc), wheels/tires (lighter), forced induction (KWSC or Turbo if you don't mind a lil more maintenance), QUALITY audio (with full sound deadening), Bling (DVD receiver, tint, Mugen visors, etc).

I've had a lot of high buck cars and still enjoy the Fits
....partly because the less oil money that goes to the Persian Gulf, the better and safer we are
Iran has enough yellow cake uranium as of right now to build 50 nuclear bombs, and those arses are radical nut cases....all developed with oil money
I never met a Hybrid that is fun to drive either, the most fun to drive eco car is the FIT
