Automatic Vs 5-speed

I think we are gonna have to have an edition of PINKS with heads-up drag races of MT vs AT.
However, a die-hard MT shifter like myself will frown at any form of granny tranny in this segment of car and engine size.

I would have loved the manual tranny however I would have to do all the driving in my household as I am the only one who can drive one. *sigh*
At least the thisa way the wife can drive my drunk ass home from the pub!

I thought you ment driving up hills. Yeah a really steep hill can be a pain to start on, but I don't really notice it anymore.
While we are talking automatic vs manual, what kind of revs at 60 mph (just under 100 kmph) are people seeing in top gear with the manual. I noticed a few people have posted with the automatic. According to my calculations it should be about 2850 rpm at 60 mph, but hopefully it is a little more relaxed.
Also any preliminary info on mileage (kilometerage - that sure sounds strange)? I am sure the mileage is good around towns, but I am in an area of high speed limits and empty roads and I do a lot of highway driving, so I am interested in 80 mph steady mileage.

Wear doesn't kill auto trannies, heat does. *Every* vehicle equipped with an auto tranny should have a good aftermarket (B&M) tranny fluid cooler installed if it doesn't already have a nice stock unit (few cars do). Fluid exchanges should be done more often than the manufacturer recommends, and you should use high-quality fluid. With this sort of maintenance, most good auto trannies will outlast any engine they're connected to.
What are US Honda powertrain warranties like, are they 5yr/60k mile? That's pretty good, if that's the case. If you have a bad-egg factory tranny, you'll know well before 60k, and if not, it should last you 200-300k with proper maintenance.
