what is it with honda tv commercials???...
in honda commercials promoting the honda line of vehicles it never mentions the fit. why is this?
yes, the fit has its own commercials. but it's never mentioned in the general honda commercials.
also.... i think the fit commercials generally suck. they give you almost no feel for the car whatsoever. they seem to be directed toward a young demographic, but ive yet to see anyone under 50 driving a fit.

There are a couple of logical reasons:
1. As mentioned above, the Fit sells itself. Therefore, since advertising is bought by the minute (and second), there's not much sense in advertising the Fit. They sell all of them that they make already.
And
2. Honda doesn't make nearly as much money on the sale of a Fit as they do on, say, an Accord V-6. Naturally, then, that's what they want to push.
I agree that the Fit commercials are kinda loopy.
And hey, I'm 48, but just to let you know, life is not over at 50. My life is a lot more fun now than it was when I was 25.
They didn't have Fits then, perhaps coincidentally.

Some OOOOOOLD guy got out of his Odyssey at Wendy's and walked by my Fit and was gawking at it, I'm talking eyeballed it front to back. We chatted for a bit, I said "looks like a newschool hot-rod doesn't it" due to it being lowwww and black on black. He loved it lol. Screw the commercials. And as for Fit selling itself, go to my local Honda dealer and you'll see about 15 GE8's lined up trying to sell themselves.

Like Steeldog said they make very little out of the sell of a Fit - Most Honda sales persons do not like to deal them
because they make very little commission. My sales man did not even take my name or phone number the first time I called to see if they had one on the lot - his advice was to drive by and when they get one in drop over to test drive. Then he insisted that I test drive a Civic because he felt that was a "better" choice for a person my age. - Sorry - I hated the Civic as far as the handling and way it felt driving. The only one that made me happy was the Fit.

haha the GD sold itself...not so much the other more technologically advanced model...yea i hate the new Fit commmercials, they try to sell an image rather than the 10 cupholders they engineered beautifully into the GE

Serious drinking!
I don't know about you, but I just don't see how a car can be a car without at least six cupholders for each person that the car will hold!
Fits DO still sell themselves (as opposed to needing informative commercials to convince potential buyers). People are just shy about spending money right now, so nothing is selling very well. Maybe the latest Consumer Reports cover photo will help.

My 94 deville has only 2 cupholders and my 82 caprice had none! the cupholders do more than hold my pepsi but also great areas for sunglasses and many other uses.
I do agree that I see alot of the older crowd driving Fits yet I don't really care.
The commericals however are only entertaining specticles and are only targeting a youth base that is primarely dominated by Scion.
