Post HKS, Blitz, K&N, OEM Drop In Air Filters

I've been slacking on replacing my air filter for awhile now (and AZ dust season is coming on), and since I'm indecisive to the Nth degree I need some help with this.
Now I've lurked for months and listened to comments about these filters.... OEM is crap, HKS cant filter, K&N filters too much, Blitz = HKS, "drop in's are a waste of money".
But I am really looking for some convincing feedback on what will go with my new HKS exhaust.

pls halp.

ps. I do realize there was a post not long ago about this, but I am hoping for an accurate poll.

K&N - washable, reusable, breathes more than OEM, car drives slightly smoother, no HP gains (for any drop in filters), reputable company

I just dropped in my K&N on Tuesday and I'm happy with my choice. It feels like my car is much more responsive than before. The stock filter was choking it. Go with the K&N.

I've used lots of K&N filters (and other aftermarket). Nothing beats the filtration and quality of OEM. K&N claims more HP and air flow. No HP gains were noticed in several different cars. More airflow means more dirt. I'm not saying that any of my engines blew up, but after UOA's (Used Oil Analysis), there was a big spike in the silicone content. Whether it was the dirt getting through, or oil from the filter, or both, it was concerning. I switched out to the good ol' OEM and all is back to norm.

I will never use K&N again. Nor any other reusable filters. I'm fine with paying the $15 for a brand new filter every year or so.

i wonder if the spoon filter would change any with the modified airbox?thats still pretty shitty though that a $90 filter loses power.

thats not the point... the point is filter for filter the spoon sucks. It will probably gain a bit with a modded box, but a better filter would make even more
