Honda ServiceNews: How to back up your navigation data
(I hope I'm posting this in the right place and that I'm not duplicating another post.)
The December 2008 Honda ServiceNews bulletin describes in detail how to back up user data that is stored in your vehicle's navigation system. While techs are supposed to do this for you if they have to replace your navigation system, it might be nice to have a backup of your own.
Three caveats:
I don't have a navigation unit (2007 Fits don't have the option), but I thought it might be interesting information for others to poke at.

Three caveats:
- You must know how to get behind the fold-down display screen or drop-down door
- You must know how to put the nav system into diagnostic mode
- You must have a PCMCIA card that accepts a CompactFlash or SD card that is at least 64MB in size. Don't use an all-in-one reader.

Thanks for the info. I think there's a lot more to the navi system than meets the eye. I think I'll look for a cheap card and back it up. There's a navi hacker thread here somewhere, but I haven't seen any new posts lately.
