No longer a Honda owner...
Well, after owning the Civic for a couple months and missing the Fit more and more, I sat down to think why I didn't like the Civic.
Oh yeah, the Civic drives like a fat pig. It's a good looking car, and gets great mileage, but it's so boring to drive.
I had to fix this, I thought. I think I might have fixed it:
2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata. This car is so much fun to drive. Only 25K miles on her, and the dealership (Ford) said the previous owner was a 62 year old doctor who traded it in on a GT500. Needless to say, the car is in GREAT shape. I can't wait until the weather warms up and I can cruise around with the top down!
Just thought I'd show off to my friends here at FitFreak.

Nice! Now repeat after me: "I swear I will not visit the FlyinMiata website more than three times a pay period until I die deeply, deeply in debt" LOL Miatas are the best. damn. track. car. ever. Nevermind all the ghey guy jokes.

I haven't even looked at the myriad aftermarket possibilities on the car yet, I just know I'd be tempted to spend waaay too much money.
Oh, and anyone who thinks it's a car for gheys hasn't driven one. Although I'm tempted to get the license plate "NOT***"

Heheh. I looked long and hard at Miatas when I was shopping for my budget commuter car. I ended up with the Fit for its greater practicality, but I still think "what if..." sometimes. Congrats on the car!

Good job. I've toyed with the possibility of making my next used car a Miata. I need a second car (driving 35 miles a day to work makes having a back up car a must when one breaks down), and considered a Miata. Amazing handling track car would be it's future. I'm jealous. Can I ask how much it cost you?

Yeah i was always told the ghey miata jokes before. But a while back i drove my friends mazda speed miata and the thing is so damn fun! With that tiny brick-sized intercooler in the front. LOL!

HAHAHAHA
*edit* this made me think of a time a while back when i saw a yellow s2k on the freeway with its top down, and there were 2 guys dressed in suits riding in it. And they had like flaming bleached hair, and it made me think of harold and kumar where those 2 guys left the office in their convertible BMW. HAHAHA.

Not a homophobe, just having a bit of fun.
I had a 2009 (!) Civic. Great car, but not for me. I liked it a lot at first, but as time went on I missed the Fit more and more. I got this Miata for just about 11,800. Pretty good deal for an '03 with 25K miles and in great condition. I thought so at least.
And this is my daily driver. I'm a 21 year old unmarried college student. Rarely do I have more than one other person in my car. The few times I have more are generally when I volunteer to drive my friends somewhere or DD. I guess now someone else gets that job.
Ass shot!

100% agreed. My brother has a 2007 Civic EX and it feels like a boat, even more so than my gf's 1st gen Scion tC. Non-Si (as I don't have any experience with the Si's) Civic, just an awful car to drive - but sure is purty.

Our '90 Miata was one of the first. Now it's old enough to vote and still has under a 100,000 miles on it. Loads of fun and very cheap to own and insure. Just don't try to drive it on even the least amount of snow or ice. Just park it and forget about it.
It. Will. Not. Go.

Well, honestly, driving it reminded me of the 2004 Volkwagen New Beetle my sister used to drive. Felt WAY heavier than it should, and you felt really "isolated" from the road.
My girlfriend loved the car though, only due to the reprogrammable message display on the stereo. She liked leaving me messages on there. She said, "But you lost money!" Well, I did, but that's depreciation for you. No car is an investment, save for a very very few cars that eventually appreciate value. The Miata is growing on her, however. Once it warms up and I'm able to cruise around with the top down, I'll have converted her to the dark side. Girls love convertibles.
On a side note, I went on a 30 minute drive with the top down today, even though it was 42 degrees out. I came back to my apartment chilled to the bone, but the whole time I had a huge smile on my face. Love this car.
