When you get shocked getting out of the car... every single time.

Why is that, BTW?

Hmmm... Haven't had that happen consistently nor just with the Fit. Maybe it's your polyester wardrobe...

No, it could be a number of things which I can't explain to a scientific or technical depth. A number of factors attribute to static electricity build up which is the zap effect you feel when it discharges.

Maybe you got the dealer option

My 81 VW pickup shocked me a lot when the temperature was below 30 degrees.. At night I could see a spark that would shoot from my finger tips to the door handle. It must be very dry where you live to have that happen this time of the year.

I used to get shocked a couple of times from the Fit, but once I put the seat covers, that stopped.

I think its a combination of clothing and the seat acting just like socks on carpet.

I added keyless entry to my first car, a 1992 Honda Accord. I had the key in my hand when I closed the door one day in the winter... the spark was strong enough that I saw a bluish-white flash, and it fried one of the remotes. Hopefully the chipped keys in modern cars are more robust!

...when the guy who thinks he is a macho sports jock at the
office says the following about your car:

"A Fit eh... that's not a man's car!!!"

My response:

"I'd rather drive the small Fit and have a fat bank account than
the other way around.
"

When a couple of college students in a Cooper S pulls up beside you and start laughing because of your trick exhaust and wheels.... I loved the expressions of shock when the driver stepped on the pedal after slowly winding out in first and shifting to second and momentarily jumping out a car length in front of me only to be three lengths behind before I had shifted into third... Boost is fun.

As funny as that is, depending who you say that to and where you are that is a very good way of getting your ass beat or worst shot.

Now I only do that once or twice a month but don't level off at 90 as much.. I get there so much faster now I am not driving over the speed limit for as long or far so the chance of getting a ticket is reduced... What always amazes me after not driving for a long period is being able to accelerate from 40 MPH going up a very steep hill in 5th gear.. I would have to drop into 3rd when the car was stock to accelerate at the same rate... What is even more amazing is that it can do it with the ambient temperature at 105 degrees.

...when you're fighting the urge to take your your Fit on a long road trip, instead of your "cushy ass" ride , because of the great MPGs! (27 vs. 40)

(Sorry I've been away so long. Spending way too much time on RolexForums.com )

What's up with the new stat panel?
