More Touch-up Paint Questions
I have a tiny scratch on my driver's side door, but it's deep enough to see metal. I bought some touch-up paint to take care of it. This is on a 2009 Orange Revolution Metallic.
The instructions on the touch-up paint say to "Allow 24 hrs to dry before buffing." Also, its says to "Apply clearcoat after 24 hrs."
Questions: Can I simply use a microfiber towel to buff? Also, do I really need to apply clearcoat? If so, can I simply pick up some clearcoat from Kragon/Autozone/whatever?
Thanks!!

buffing is not necessary unless you made a botched attempt and need to
remove some off. 24hrs is usually not enough time for touchup to dry
completely. i give it one week before doing any sanding/polishing.
you can bascially use any enamel based clearcoat you find at most autoparts places.
ive even used some enamel clearcoat borrowed from my wife's nail polish basket.
if you're not very fluent with touchups, you can even MIX the basecoat and
clearcoat together 50/50 and just dab that onto your panel. i use a toothpick
with the tip tapped on something (to get it flat) as applicator.
goodluck.
