Exhaust repair history
All my old Hondas ran forever, but it seemed like I had to replace the exhaust/muffler every year or two. Any idea if the newer hondas are any better? That may be there only thing that keeps me from getting a new Fit.

Whe sold our 1998 CR-V in 2004 with the original muffler. Our 2000 Odyssey still has the original muffler.
My 1990 Civic Si needed a muffler the year after I bought it used. I replaced it with a quality Bosal unit, and it lasted 4-5 years, and over 100,000kms in the worst conditions our Canadian weather could throw at it.
If you get the Midas, Speedy, etc... mufflers, those are super cheap and start rusting when the guys put them on the car.

The factory exhaust pipes on the Jazz / Fit are all stainless steel to reduce both weight as well as heat loss and to improve the efficiency of the cat and faster warm ups. This also results in reduced emissions from startup.
