How are seats holding up?

I can't decide whether to purchase seat covers or not for my soon to be picked up Fit. I saw a reference on here one time about Cover King seat covers that are custom fitted and work with the seat side air bags etc. They are a bit costly though. Have you or would you suggest seat covers for the Fit? I prefer the custom look to the universal look seat covers....of coarse those are more costly.

coverking

The Coverkings fit perfectly and look nice. Look around for places selling Coverkings other than the coverking store. There are cheaper prices to be had. You don't need covers unless there are special circumstances. I work dirty jobs and end up being filthy at the end of the day. Pets might be another example. The stock seats are quite nice so it's up to you.

why not get the covers when your seats start to show wear?

which could be 5-6yrs.

Kenchan's got a good point. I pondered that I like the stock seat covers and the person who's going to get to enjoy them might well be the next owner of the car. I got my Coverkings made out of spacer mesh which is very breathable (used for tennis shoes and backpack panels that touch your back) so I like them for other reasons but aesthetically they're not as pretty as the stock covers. Just something to think about.

Someone here has leather Mugen seat covers...they look fantastic and are custom-fitted, but cost about $900. Not money I would spend. The seats are nicely covered as is, and seem quite sturdy. I expect the seats to last for quite a while.

I would spend my mod money elsewhere, like getting a clear coating put on the front end to help keep rock chips away.

Seat material has held up great.
I used to cover all the seats of my new cars but all this did was give the next owner a better seat.
Now I get the seats!
