Honda Fits in Singapore

Honda Fits in Singapore
Hi Fit Freakers,
Normally I am in New Mexico, but I am in Singapore on business and sightseeing for 9 days.
This is a great city State, and there are Honda Fits everywhere. I expected them to be called Jazz, but they use the name Fit here.
There is also a slightly larger Honda, very similar to the Fit. I cannot see its name as yet. Lots of rain and traffic here.

Found the name of the larger Honda like a Fit, it is called the Airwave.
Honda Airwave - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lots of them on the road here as well. Basically Honda and Toyota rule the busy roads here, although lots of upscale cars on the road.

No gum chewing
Hi again Fit Freakers,
In case you did not know, there is no gum chewing in Singapore.....a $1000.00 fine. Many things are fined here...they call it a 'fine' city. But it is a great city, and very
busy. No American cars on the roads here....all Japanese, Korean, and some German cars.
It turns out the Honda Fit was called the Jazz here prior to 2008, but is now called the Fit. There are many Honda vehicles here that we never see in N America.

More fines in Singapore
Just got back from riding the subway here....a very busy experience.
A $500.00 fine for littering, and $1000.00 fine for smoking in the subway. And they enforce these things.
Took a pic of a Honda Jazz today...cannot get it posted right now....it has a red dot above the J, matching our blue dot on the Fit.

Thanks for the replies, Fit Freakers,
We are still in Singapore, and enjoying all the Honda Fits and Jazz that are on the roads here. They seem to be the perfect car here....as parking is tough anywhere.
We have another two days here, and are then going by train north into Malaysia, to Kuala Lumpur. That should be interesting...going by train. We will see how many Fits are running around up there.

Malaysian cars
Hi Fit Freakers,
We are back from Malaysia, and now have two days left here in Singapore. Cars are very diff up in Kuala Lumpur. Very few Honda Fits or Jazz, or Hondas of any kind. Since they make two types of cars of their own, the incentive to buy them is huge. But the tax on foreign cars is also huge, so very few people can afford foreign.
Also, the number of motorcycles there was amazing, and no-one followed any laws....esp the bikes. They drove through red lights, went the wrong way on one-way streets, and even rode on sidewalks. It was a very wild and dangerous place for driving, although quite modern in most other ways.
They make the Perodua and the Proton. Here is a link to see the % of each car on their roads...very interesting:
Autoworld - Malaysia Car Sales Statistics - Jan to June 2008
I hope to be back in NM late on Wed, after a 33 hr day crossing the date line.
