It's a nice little car, has a bit more power than either the Fit or the Yaris, but I am still partial to the Fit as a total package.
The Versa interior is *nice* though.

Ya the Versa's interior seems to be more upscale in nature then the Fit and especially Yaris. Its a shame we never got the Vitz in the US, that is the only other sub-compact that for me personally would consider getting other then the Fit.

If you look at the power to weight ratios of the Fit and Yaris, it will become apparent which car has better performance:
07 Fit .044
06 Yaris .033
For further comparison:
06 Civic Sedan .051
06 Civic SI .068
In terms of performance, cargo space/configurability and interior standard features the Fit takes the prize. In terms of the exterior, it’s a matter of opinion.
While you can pick up a slight hint of the Fits aging design, it’s not really obvious that the Fit is 5 years old. The Yaris has a much “newer” looking exterior with bolder styling. In my opinion I do not like what Toyota has done to the exterior of the new Yaris.
(I’m a n00b so if I screwed up the power to weight, please do not crucify me)

I'm baffled by your post magni.
Is a lower number better (did you divide HP by weight)? The Civic Si number is higher than the Civic sedan, and the Yaris number is higher than the Fit.
Uber confused over here. And I don't even fit comfortably in the Yaris, but the Fit fits me like a glove!

It's the final ratio other wise, yes I devided the one in (not a mechanic or buff, just joe blow driver):
Fit 1:22.67
Yaris 1:30.28
Civic 1:19.65
SI 1:14.60
When displayed as a ratio in this post lower=better, either way in plain english with the 3hp drop in the Yaris and the extra curb weight, the fit will accelerate better.

actually, higher is better, well, from what I'm seeing.
And simply dividing the hp by weight isn't everything. Gearing, torque curve, rolling resistance, wind drag, etc. all come into play.

Right from Toyota.ca, 5 Door RS = 3210 lbs / 1456 KG. My mistake was looking at gross not curb. Curb is 2335lbs
Toyota.ca Yaris Specs

Its roughly the same as the Fit give or take about 50-75lbs which shouldnt make a whole lot of difference. Not sure if anyone has mentioned the VW Polo but thats a great car also that unfortunately we dont have in the US market and it is about the size of the Fit, a subcompact. The newest Polo I believe offers a 1.6L turbo I-4 pushing out around 167hp if I remember reading right in my CAR magazine.
