if its al a carte, than thats cool, i like pick and choose, for instance i would def opt for the short shifter nd prolly pedals, but i would not opt for the rims and body kit as i assume the rims would be 2 grand.... also the floor mats look sick!

i'm starting to understand mugen more.
think about it....of all the guys you know rocking mugen parts...how many of those parts REALLY increase performance?
most of the appeal is the looks. common mugen fit mods are wheels and visors no? they are just playing to what we have shown them that we really want eh? don't deny it. i'm not saying i'm NOT wanting engine stuff too, but the cost to develop it is nowhere near as much as making a bunch of visors or even wheel sets.
and from what i understand, this is NOT going to be a limited edition sort of thing, more like ordering hfp parts from the dealer, except they'll be mugen.
be glad they even looked at the usdm ge. this is huge. who would have known that almost 15 years after the first guys in the late 80's/early 90's drooled over mugen parts, that you could go to honda directly and get em?
if the interest is high, i'm sure they'll make more.
and those wheels are f****** sick. and f*** you if you don't like em.
most mugen wheel designs are kinda quirky anyway. had these been made 20 years ago, everyone would be googly-eyed over the design, because its jdm.
just think...show interest in this and then suspension and all other manner of parts will be available.
oh, and the exhaust seems like a real exhaust, but the actual bumper itself has been played up to be more impressive than not. the final production version probably wont look like this.

I'm leaving Vegas as I type and I attended the show as well. Seeing a Mugen Fit is not something I was expecting to see. To be honest, it looks a lot better in person then the pics show. My biggest complaint is that the car did not have a Mugen suspension and that the wheels were not wide enough. I currently drive a Mugen Si and the wheel/tire/suspension makes a huge difference in performance. I also owned to previous Civic Si as well, so I can really compare them. It would be great if Honda would change there mind and offer a Mugen suspension in the future. I guess time will tell.
Oh yeah, to second what's been said earlier, they are not releasing a limited number of Mugen Fit. Any one can buy the accessories, which I think is great for everyone. Just buy the parts you want and stop hating on the rest.

the mugen si was much more deserving of the negativity i think. it offered more in terms of performance, but it also cost 30k. there may be a dealer or two that decks out a couple of fits with every mugen option ticked and try to pass if off as a model in itself, but if you do it a la carte, you're golden.
i though that mugen parts being more widely available would make everyone happy?

depends on the part. a quality shift knob can come from anywhere, so i wouldn't pay a premium for that. real suspension tuning or an ECU reflash from a place with the means to do real RD would be worth paying a mugen premium. although, to be honest, rolling out inexpensive things like shift knobs or trim parts is probably the right business move considering the economy.

i'm just saying that most guys hunting for mugen parts hunt for exactly whats offered here: exhausts, knobs, wheels, interior bits, lips and such.
makes more sense than slapping it all on a civic and commanding 30k for it.
i don't think that making mugen parts available is honda's way of addressing the lack of a type r anything in the states, and it shouldn't be taken as such.
