Ordering a Fit in a custom color?

I know that some car manufacturer's will custom build a car in any color in their database. Will Honda do this?

In other words, will Honda allow me to make a custom order for a yellow Fit?

good question, my GUESS would be no under normal circumstances, but if you have enough money you can get anything done, IMO it would be cheaper to get a good custom job than it would be to get honda to do it... im guessing it would be in excess of 5 grand from them...

No.

I used to work at an Audi dealer. Audi would indeed paint a car a custom color with limits. For instance, a color from another model of Audi could be specified, or a color from a custom palette. You couldn't just pick any color in the world, it had to be a color they had available to them at the factory, as you say in the database. I think it was $3500 additional if I recall, and a long wait. To the best of my knowledge, no such program with Honda. The demand for custom color Fits at a $3500 premium on a $16-18k car is probably minimal. On a $90k A8, maybe a little more demand for it.

I'd have a local shop do it...paint on the fit sucks, least on the gd3's :/ Unless they'd be nice and add maybe another coat and a lil more clear on top

There is a lot of pressure on auto manufacturers to use eco-friendly paint and painting practices. The downside of this is that paint quality suffers. The upside is, we'll have a couple more years added on before we totally kill the planet. According to various internet wierdos, the world is going to end in 2012 anyway, so as long as our Fit paint lasts another few years, we'll be good to go.

Never gonna happen... if they don't spray that color in the Fit plant you won't get it. A yellow Fit would be cool though, I'd like to see Honda add it to the lineup.

People have been predicting the end of the world for centuries (if not longer). 2012 is when Sarah Palin is rumored to run for Prez. maybe if she wins it WILL be the end of the world, as she will likely shoot everyone from the helicopters. Either that or she will drill our earth to death.

The yellow color will be nice, and I can probably make a few bucks too when I drive to NYC pretending to be a taxi.

...paint, baby, paint! ...

P.S. Maybe you can look at vinyl car wraps. They double as "bras" to protect the original paint. Besides you can change color as often as you like, and add cool custom graphic as well (say, zebra stripes or optical illusions to cause other cars to crash). I don't know the cost but you can google it.

Wouldn't it be Y2K12?

The OP has a good question; Although I doubt they will do custom colors, I think they should (atleast the colors offered in other markets)... The Fits are being made in Japan, and shipped out to the states, I don't see why they can't just paint it Helios Yellow, and ship it out to us. Unless the reason is because the US GE8 body/bumpers, etc is slightly different than the JDM GE8, and the computer paint machines have to be reprogrammed with the US GE8 dimensions, or they are in different plants/assembly lines.
But still, they should be able to send a US GE8 thru the JDM Helios Yellow paint line...

I bet you could not get a Fit in a custom color from Japan. It would be cheaper to repaint it here. I would love to see or hear from someone who did repaint their Fit and see how it does. Our paint just is so bad and I would give anything not to have to deal with the swirls and spider webbing.

Why not order it "unpainted" and paint it the color you want?
