Just went through the same thing and I hate to say it but it sucked. I got my new one recently but I still have pictures of my old one and when I see them I get a bit misty eyed

A total bummer about your Fit! Your heart was in the right place though, and you did the right thing to avoid possibly killing a dog. Great that you weren't hurt in the process - not so great that your Fit seemed to have suffered the most.

Some posters here seem to think that a wrecked Fit is a bigger tragedy than taking a life of a defensless dog. What is our society coming too?

Count your blessings that you are ok. A car can be replaced much more easily than a life. Goodluck to you and I am sorry for your loss.
