Venture shield

Exactly. To each's own! BUT when someone comes on and spreads misinformation in an offensive manner, yeah I have issues with that. Do you think the people who DO own the 40K+ cars who apparently are justified in spending money on Ventureshield protection would do so if it RUINED the paint? Come on. Then to say "well this is JUST an economy car so it isn't worthwhile protecting the paint"??? Someone who may be considering getting the clear bra done may read those posts and have second thoughts, then regret it down the road when their front end is totally rock chipped.
You don't have to spend $900 like I did to get the ENTIRE front end done! chipped, hence getting the entire hood on my new Fit done. That plus, well, have you SEEN the size of the hood on the Fit? Could be done with a single sheet. Yes, my guy custom cut all the pieces too so I consider the quality of this work well worth the money I spent.
So for anyone considering getting Ventureshield or any other type of clear bra, please do your research and don't take any one person's comments as being correct!

editing like some folks) is not mis-information. that's from actual use
and observations. like i posted above, driving 3-4 sec behing the car
ahead of you will reduce your chance of getting chips significantly.
my view is that Fit's are cheap dailydrivers. a basic and cool way of
transportation. i would rather enjoy it more by modding it rather then
trying to save it for the next buyer. that is my point of view and i
hope you respect that.
clearbra's have a working life span. the yellowing will occur if left in
UV longer (say a daily driver) than say a car that's garaged most of the
work week. you just have to understand the tradeoff's including very
easy to swirl.
agreed that $900 is excessive on a $16k car. and as you mentioned,
since the hood of the Fit is small and easy to apply, not sure why the
installers charged you so much for the bumper, hood, and mirrors.
do you have more coverage like headlights? fenders? I have Xpel on
my cooper-s's headlights and Laminex (yellow) on my foglamps. the
HID's on the cooper-s's are not cheap to replace. the laminex, i just
wanted the yellow color on the fogs.
take it a step further, i install my own clearbra and it's a time consuming
process but nothing you can't do on your own if you are willing to try.
takes patience and some determination. you can get them pre-cut:
www.autopaintguard.com
and agreed that you and i have both experience on clearbra's and have
difference in opinions which should let the readers know what to expect
and what the limitations are.
im not sure why you are so passionate about the clearbra though.
personally, i would prefer not to have clearbra.

I'm passionate about making sure people are properly informed and can make their own decisions, based on fact. You can give your opinion and it can defer from my own, that's just fine. But doing so in a personal attack is not cool. Obviously you just don't get that which is pretty sad actually. This forum has been very informative to me but having my judgement called into question in an insulting manner does make me "passionate".

Kenchan, I think you're really coming across as opinionated and belligerent in this. It seems you expect Canada Girl to share your personal tastes in modding her car. She doesn't care about putting on coil overs and such; from past experience she values her paint and to her Ventureshield is a shrewd investment. That's all she's saying.

i see. wasnt the intent to insult anyone here.
i mean come on, what do i benefit from attacking you? nothing...
so that was obviously not my purpose. just sharing my opinions
and experiences as i always do.

Again, I'm sure you're a nice guy but in this case, you went overboard and issued a personal attack that was totally uncalled for. Obviously we do have differing opinions on the clear bra and how to spend our cash, but the difference is that I have enough respect for you NOT to become insulting as you did. Hopefully you finally get that and learn to provide comments/criticisms in a more constructive way in the future....

Due diligence is the best course of action before making a decision that will benefit you in the long run – that is why I have 3M clearbra for obvious reasons. Body shop specialists use 3M products (not the detailers, mind you). Furthermore, bugs are like a plague here in Texas. Hey, nose mask could provide an extra insurance, especially, when making a long-distance trip (100 miles or more).
