Cleaning the seats!

I own a 2008 Honda Fit. One day when I was driving I was overcome with pangs of hunger so I stopped to get a bite to eat and a drink from a friendly neighborhood fast food joint. I decided to take a drink of my soda when all of the sudden: "Oh no you don't!" said the cola as it exited the lid of the cup and spilled onto my lap. "Ahhhh shiiit!" I said as I pulled over to try to clean the mess up. My fault for trying to drink and drive, I guess.

Months later, there is a small stain in the middle of my driver's seat. It's not bad, but every time I get in the car it's annoying to look at.

My question is: What's the best way to clean the upholstery in the GD3 Fit? I've tried "Gonzo Strain remover" but it didn't seem to do much. It seems the texture of the seats makes it difficult for any cleaner to really get down in there.

I have always used Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner on my previous cars with GREAT results. I haven't needed to use it on the Fit yet...thank God! You can find it in most auto supply stores (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) and it's great for home use as well.

Good luck!

yeah i had a stain on my back seat...

i tried the blue coral stuff, it has like a built in brush but it's a little too stiff. I eventually got it out with some Resolve Carpet cleaner and a soft bristle brush and then vacuumed it up after it dried.

Simple Green, a multipurpose cleaner in a spray bottle, works pretty well too. Probably the Bissell carpet and upholstery cleaners as well. If you search some of the treads you will find more ideas for spot lifting.

it's a serious pain to get these seats clean if they are actually dirty

That's Exactly Why Anytime I Buy A New Car:

I do several things the first week. SCOTCH GUARD the ENTIRE interior, seats, carpet, etc. since you never know when you might drop something or have a leaking bottle of booze etc.
POLYMER the exterior. Add paint protection to areas I can do myself. Won't drop 500-700 on an economy car to protect paint, not cost-effective. Vinylex all plastic parts to prevent fading and cracking.
Well worth the effort.
