At MSRP

So I've been locked in a MASSIVE e-mail campaing the past few days in the DFW area w/ Internet sales managers are all the dealerships. Essentially it looks about 70/30 split for MSRP/Market pricing. These are on preorder/deposits, who knows for cars that end up on a lot with dealer junk added. Putting down my deposit on Saturday.

Pricing for Canadians:

$14,980 - DX (5-speed manual transmission)
$16,180 - DX (5-speed automatic transmission)
$16,280 - DX-A (5-speed manual transmission)
$17,480 - DX-A (5-speed automatic transmission)
$17,380 - LX (5-speed manual transmission)
$18,580 - LX (5-speed automatic transmission)
$19,280 - Sport (5-speed manual transmission)
$20,480 - Sport (5-speed automatic transmission)

Note that the DX and LX pricing did not change at all from 2008. This despite the LX now having heated mirrrors, 15" wheels, keyless entry, and a rear spoiler. Attribute it to Honda finally lowering vehicle prices for Canadians to better reflect the strength of our dollar. I think that the prices for the Sport are slightly lower than last year's model.

Our release date is Monday September 15th, which is 3 weeks after the USA release of August 26 (next week!) Tried to get some info. out of some Honda dealers but no go. Not really sure what Honda is waiting for but the dealerships around here are still under some kind of embargo. All I want to know is if Tidewater Blue comes to Canada! Geez....

LX trim also comes with driver side armrest. I am still debating to go for the Sport for 16" wheels and security system or just get LX and aftermarket options. Leaning towards the Sport atm since, fog lamps and a better stereo are standard but not high priority.

Contact Richmond Honda. They have some info on the '09 Fit and you didn't hear it from me.

Care to share what dealer and Fot model you are going with? I went to John Eagle about a 6 weeks ago and they wanted me to agree to $18k for a Sport5MT which I knew would be significantly over MSRP. I've got an inquiry via Costco in to Lute Riley in Richardson (Costco doesn't have '09 in the system yet so I put in '08).

She got a deal, or what? My calculations say the 09 A/T sport is $840 more than the 08. Seems very fair.

I got a 08 Fit Sport AT for $200 under MSRP the first week of July with no dealer add-ons at Frank Kent Honda on the west side of Fort Worth. I bought the floor mats, wheel locks, etc from Bernardi Parts. Every other dealer wanted at least MSRP plus mandatory dealer add-ons.

same with me except i bought mine in NY state, I ended up getting it for 200$ off. Every dealer I went to could barely keep them on the lot...some wanted MSRP and some wanted above MSRP.
