Mild clutch chatter

Just started to notice over the last few days that first thing in the morning for about the first 3 or 4 shifts from 1st at a dead stop, I am getting some clutch chatter. After those few shifts everything is hunky dory. Even at lunch If I leave to get something the clutch is fine. I have been driving manuals for 17 years so its not like I beat the car up learning. I also had clutch chatter in my old Jeep CJ7 but it never went away untill I changed the clutch out, also bought used. Anyone by chance having similar issues? I have 22000km on my 2007 fit. Bought used at 3500kms. I want to make sure I have some suggestions before taking it back to the dealer. I am a women after all and we know how that goes. JK. We have very cold, long winters so I dont want this issue all winter. Ideas please?

I also have been experiencing some clutch chatter, but only when the car is cold. After the first 5 minutes, everything smooths out. Honestly, I think it's just a quirk of the car.

I'm having the same symptoms. Nothing to worry about though I'm sure. I've chalked it up the clutch fluid having to warm up.

Annoying Chatter

Yeah, I get clutch chatter until the drivetrain's warmed up. It's pretty annoying, especially from a Honda.

Has anyone found a solution to it, by any chance?

ours has it but it comes and goes. It has 25K on it now. One time it was really bad. Thinking of taking it in.

Mine has it and it's got around1300 miles on it. I thought something was seriously wrong until I stumbled across this thread and found out it wasn't just me.

do you find that it's worse in rainy / damp weather?

It doesn't make a difference with ours.

ive noticed that too. was posted a few months ago on my blog somewhere.

it's not as bad as the old 02 WRX i had and sold long time ago with terrible clutch shudder, but the FitS does take some time for the plate to warm up. i consider this 'normal' especially if you drive your car pretty hard like me.

and yes, the shudder is worse on rainy/humid days. it can be from the ECU needing to adapt to the humidity vs the dry weather it was running before shut-off.

I find it worse the longer it's been in the shade or after the sun sets. If I let it sit out in the sun all day and don't drive it and hop in a 6 PM, the car never chatters, but when i go to leave my house in the morning at 7 AM, the car chatters.

Seems a little weird, but for the price I paid I can live with it.
