I shorted my electrical system HELP PLEASE!

I just tried installing my cargo LEDs, but somehow I shorted out everything. So far I noticed my dome light and radio won't turn on. Also, I can't lock/unlock my car with the keyfob. Honda won't look at it until Monday and I'll be gone tomorrow through Friday!!! Someone please help me fix this tonight. There has to be a way I can at least lock the car automatically. The radio and dome can wait. I wonder what else is shorted out. Do I need a new fuse for the keyless entry? I'm so paranoid right now because my hatch is unlocked. I have to open that to unlock the rear door to unlock the driver door. Someone please help

No worries, you probably just popped the fuse. Those items are usually on the same circuit. Pull out the pocket on the lower left corner of the dash, there is a big fuse panel behind there, identify the fuse that is blown and replace.

just get a power finder. attach the ground to exposed metal and start touching each side of each fuse. if it doesn't light up on one side, bad fuse...replace it

Or if someone can tell me real quick what fuses are for the interior dome light, cargo light, the radio, and the keyless lock/unlock? I would appreciate that so much!!

It's 6:13 as soon as I get the numbers for these fuses I'll head out to autozone and get this shit solved!

im not sure what type of fuses we have in the fit...but you should be able to check to see if the connection is broken in the fuse. do you have your honda fit manual? check there to find it. if you dont have it i can walk out to my car and get my booklet and check for you.

Is the fusebox diagram also in the manual? I think it's only on the fusebox cover that I left at Honda..

28 is power locks. there is also primary fuses...open up your manual to i think its page 222, there is a how to check description and what fuse is what. goodluck. if there is several things out besides power locks you might have blown a primary...check out the manual and you can find out whats going on. like i said earlier, you can check the fuse by pulling it out and looking for a break in the connection inside the fuse.

Others have weighed in on the electrical issues; meanwhile, why can't you just use your physical key to lock the hatch? I myself have power locks but don't have remote keyless entry, and can unlock and lock the hatch just fine.

now I'm confused. Is fixing fuse 28 going to allow me to use keyless entry then? Or is 28 for keyless as well as the button on the inside drivers side that unlocks/locks all the doors

just curious why a power finder is needed when you can check fuses by just lookin at em? ;p if youre gonna pull it out and put a power finder on it, why not just look at it and put it back/replace it if the connection is blown?

they need to get rid of fuses on cars and start making some really small breakers ;P
