Another 40 MPG Fit (5 Tank Average)

Ever since I got my fit, I wanted to get really great mileage. This week, I finally got my 5 tank average to above 40 MPG! A cool milestone for me. What really helped my was a long drive from San Diego to Los Angeles and back (44+ MPG on that tank). I did get above 40MPG on a tank last month on a trip from San Diego to Irvine.

I have kept track of my mileage since the first tank in August 2007. I am posting a plot of every tank I have had. I have started to drive conservatively (60-65mph freeway) the last couple of months and have seen an increase in my fuel efficiency.

I have noticed my winter mileage is pretty bad. This is probably due to a combination of weather, driving style, and winter gasoline blend.

Anyways, thanks for reading my post and happy driving.

Yellow - Five tank average
Blue - MPG for one tank

Haha yeah. As gas prices climbed, I started to mind my mileage more and employed more gas saving techniques.
