White or Silver Fit? Please help me decide.

STORM SILVER METALLIC or TAFFETA WHITE?

Have been going back and forth on a weekly basis deciding between Silver or White on the 09 Fit. Looking to get the Sport w/ VSA & NAV with the 5MT. I really enjoyed the TW Fit thread and think the Silver looks great as well. So looks wise it is a slight nod to the white for me, but it is really a wash either way.

My question is what are the benefits & downsides of both White & Silver. Such as which is easiest to keep clean, which would be best at reflecting the heat and keeping the interior cool?

I always thought that white was the easiest to keep clean, but read in one of the threads here that the white may show more grime/bugs on the nose than some other colors?

Thanks in advance for any help!

you still have a lot of time to think for 2009's, no?

i like white, but if you plan on using a clearbra might want to
go with silver. silver is an easy color to keep clean.

Yes, but I do want to go ahead and make up my mind so I can put my request in. My buddy is a general mgr of a toy dealership and he has me at the top of their waiting list. But he said to let him know know as soon as I figure out the color so that when they are able to put in their request he can try to get exactly what I want.

Thanks for your tips!

Taffeta White is returning in the U.S. for 2009, but they're dropping VBP (WTF?!?!?).

I think white on the Fit is stunning, and would've gotten one if it was available when I bought mine.

It would keep the car cooler, but it will show dirt so much more than SSM.

If I had a white one, I would have more mods than my black one has. My plan was a CF hood, white wheels, and a BAR Honda F1 team style decal stripe on the sides.

Anyway, good luck.

This is where I am getting hung up.. I drive ~200 miles per business day in & out of hospitals, so I don't want to hop in & out of a hot sweat box all day. But... I also hate washing my car!

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it.

silver or white. I say white

I have owned both colors... click on my signiture to see them. I like the taffeta white alot more then the storm silver or silver for that matter. Also I think it depends on what area you drive. I live in the pacific northwest which gets over cast with clouds and often has parcipitation(rain). I beleive that because of that my silver car was totaled in a crash do to blending in with the background. Also the roads around here are asphalt which is kinda a black/grey color.
The problem might be the same for the taffeta white if you live in an area that snows alot.... I say keep your headlights on as much as possible.

the taffeta white rocks and besides it takes great photoshots...

I have a 2008 Fit in SSM, so it's easy to guess my answer.

My problem with white (or black) is that it shows dirt especially easy. When I get a car, I don't want two colors - white or black.

I like silver in general, and I think it looks especially good on either generation Fit.

Was able to catch a SSM Sport at the gas station today and gotta say it did look very classy. So I pull out of the station all set on SSM then pass a freaking TW looking sharp on the interstate...

Any opinions on the difference between the colors in regards to keeping the interior cool during the summer? Would there be a noticable difference?

Thanks again for the replies everyone.

If it was me personally between silver and white I'd choose white.

I think these cars look great in white and it also stays cool. Not going to be a huge difference between it and silver as far as staying cool but I just find white more classic and interesting.

I think silver is just a little to close to gray for me. I find it dull looking on most cars. The only color more dull on a Japanese car than silver is BEIGE, IMO.

I'd go with white if its going to be between those two colors.

I live in Florida and I used to live in Arizona, two very hot places, and I can tell you a good tint job is going to have a lot more to do with keeping the interior cool than the exterior color. Go for a quality tint job all the way around, as dark as is legal in your area.
