Question First new Car period, Front Brakes??

Halo all, I just got my Fit last week and love it. But of course I worry about my little fitty. We had some rain over the weekend, and i noticed that after the rain, my front brakes had what appeared to be rust on the disc..the surface, along the outer portion of the disc, and also on the inner circle portion where it attaches to the wheel (I'm not well versed in car terminology, so forgive). Took it for a drive and afterwards noticed that the surface rust was gone (from braking) but the other rust remains. First off, not sure if it is rust, but it sure does look like it. Has anyone else experienced this? I am a first time new car buyer, so I don't know if this is normal break-in stuff. I can take a pic tomorrow if nobody is sure what I am talking about.

Thanks

This is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
If you had full wheel covers like the old days you wouldn't have even noticed it.

relax, its normal, its just surface, it comes off as soon as you drive it, unless you leave it very long[like a long time], then the brake pads might have a hard time gettin it off...

steel and wet area equals fast rusting power

like others say in the brake area not an issue, but is a good example that if you see a rust spot forming or bare metal exposed from a scratch/ding on hood or door...get it taken care of before it gets worse.
