we had a nice little winter storm this year in the south east and had to intentionally try to get my fit to loose control before it ever did anything. I have a manual. Hope that helps some.

Well I'm living in northern part of Norway in a city called Tromsų, and we have both much snow, much ice, snow blizzards and almost everything mother nature can offer us in the wintertime, except realy cold temperatures (was only at -15degree Celsius at det coldest this winter).

And I have no trouble driving my Jazz CVT around here.

We have a lot of steep hills too. I just for fun I had to test a hillstart in one of the worst hills around here when it was icy. But I was a little disapointed off how easy it was to take off...

I'm using tires with steel spikes in the winter tires, but next set of tires is going to be without spikes for the winter.

This past winter was a decent trial for the Fit. I didn't have any problems, as long as you drive in the snow and know what you are doing, and aren't going too fast you wont have any problems.

I've had my 07 Sport thru 2 Michigan winters now. Here's my findings:

*Your front spoiler chin's paint will end up beat to sh*t if there's much road salt

*The problem is not you moving (or stopping) it's the larger vehicles behind you that require more room to slow down - that becomes the issue when it's icy

the canadians (there are quite a few) on the forum really enjoy the fit.

no problems at all, i was pleasently surprised at hot well the little thing did, i did have a few issues getting going in deeper snow(but what do u expect wit a FWD car with a tiny motor) but once i was moving i was fine, i wasnt being wreckless, but other than going 4WD i doubt u could do much better, i was also on stock tires, im sure winter tires would help but i found them not needed

"how does it handle" is not the proper question. More like "how does it slide around?"

NOTE: that is my experience on the stock tires.

Spent a little time in western NC snow this past winter; with good snow tires you will have as little trouble as anyone. The light weight is great help when traction is low and superior steering makes accurate driving a snap..
