New Fit = Cheaper Insurance :)

New Fit = Cheaper Insurance :)
I traded in my '04 Toyota Matrix for my Fit.
I notified my insurance and was expecting a little hike in premium (if it was a large hike I would have open a can of whoop ass on them). To my surprise I'm actually going to pay a little less now
I know the Fit is a safer car with side airbags/curtains but it does cost a nice chunk more then a used Toyota.
Yet another perk to owning a Fit.
Did anyone else got such a deal or did your premium went up?

I went from a 1997 Subaru Impreza wagon to a 2008 Fit Sport MT. While my insurance didn't go down, it only went up something like $60 a year, and I expected it to go up substantially as it always did in the past with a new car. I too attribute this to the fact the Fit has much better safety ratings.

Up and down for me lol
Fit = $100.98/month
Which si down from my S-10 = $123/month
But up from my Ruckus = $31/month
Fit and Ruckus are both with ICBC which is a public insurance company, and my truck is basic with ICBC only and all the extra's with a private insurance company.
Fit was cheaper with ICBC this year but next year once I'm at 10yrs driving history I'll be switching otpional insurance over to private as it'll be cheaper after that.

Mine's going down. (Last had a 2000 Beetle 1.8T).
Regardless of what car I have, my premium is always ridiculously expensive. I have a perfect driving record, but my insurance *tripled* when I moved about three miles from a student-heavy area with lots of petty crime to a quiet residential neighborhood that happens to have a chunk of major interstate passing through the edge of our ZIP code. Even though I drive my car in basically the same places as before (and I park it in a driveway instead of on a busy arterial), I pay triple because the post office has assigned me the same ZIP code as a big crashy interstate that's actually closer to my previous house. Fun.

I traded my 06 tsx nav 6spd for my 08 fit and a new baby(lol) and actually the difference paid like half my new premium with the money left from the discount of going from the tsx to the fit from my insurance. Never had and insurance company tell me i have a credit to my account..It was awesome

Who do you have, I want that sort of cost....
I'm paying 166$ a month, driving for over 8 years.. (internationally, 6 of those years).
I only have a speeding ticket on my driving record. or wait... is it because I have full coverage cause I'm financed?

Geico?
I went from $30 a month, liability on a 87 integra, to $83 a month, full coverage on the fit. You guys might want to give Geico a shot. They beat everyone else by a wide margin in my case.
