Need help with locking gas cap

I just bought my Fit last friday. Black sport model. Love it.

I ordered a locking gas cap from Collegepointhonda and received it today. It appears that I have to install the lock part myself since it was wrapped separately from the cap but there were no instructions in the box for how to do this properly.

I see that there is a particular shape and its corresponding hole at the bottom of the insertion hole on the cap but what do I do? Do you put the lock in and then turn it some way with the key?

They really should include instructions with these things. Thanks for any help.

Hello. the lock cylinder should go right in the cap. You'll feel a tiny click which locks it into position. Then you are good to go. hope this helps.

Thanks. I was afraid I'd put it in wrong and not be able to get it out. Cheers!

if you took it to the dealer they could code the cylinder to your key
