Seat cover for a sweaty guy?

Heh, EWWW on the topic, I know!

I will be buying a 2009 Fit the moment they come out. My current car has leather. Personally, I don't care for leather but for one regard--it is so easy to clean if you have a spill or if you just plain old sweat on it. Just wipe it down--and once a car wash, I use the leather treatment on it.

I frequent my gym and I am a runner. Most days I just run from my home, but when my wife and I take long runs we often drive to a location first. Those runs are great, but can leave a pretty nasty funk on us when we are done, especially in July and August...

Does someone make a good seat cover that helps such a purpose? Maybe one that can be thrown in the wash?

Do most seat covers screw with the airbag deployment from the seat?

Maybe try an oversized undershirt over the seat?

You can find custom fit seat covers in any auto accessory catalog, and costco on line, that fit around the air bags. You'll have to wait until the car is released on the market before the catalogs will accept your order. Try here:

seat protector

Hi ,If you go on JC Witney web site and look under seat covers and protectors you'll find big terry cloth towel protectors that attach around the headrest and cover the seat, put them and off as needed.Plus if the things get nasty just throw them in the washing mech. good pics on witneys we b page.Armor seat protector in black, gray ,baige ,and wite i think .Good hunting

Seat gloves are a Jeep owner's best friend and sound like just what you need:

i'd go with coverking's leatherette. Best price for the quality IMO. it's like $280 a set (front or back) and they are exactly like real leather and can easily be wiped clean. If u don't want that, get their neoprene seat covers. U can order it from costco.com for $170 a set.

Does anybody have actual pics of the CoverKing stuff installed in a car? Just from browsing their website, some of the stuff looks a bit cheesy, but that's a generic design.

For people that sweat Coverking offers a material called spacer mesh that breathes beautifully. The seatcovers are sweet (no pics) and can be had for about $180. Spacermesh is used for panels on backpacks that contact the hiker. Coverking's covers also are made perfectly for the side airbags. I treated mine with 303 fabric protectant so that even though they breathe water will actually bead on them. Protection AND comfort!

There are terrycloth covers that are essentialy just pulloverson the seat back with a flap for the seat. Easy to take off and wash.
Check the internet. Or you can be cheap like me and use the sewing machine to make your own. The pattern can't be more simple.

I would just simply change shirts before getting in the car. or put a bath towel on the seat. that's what i've been doing after the gym.

The nicest seat covers I've ever seen are the Wet Okole brand, I had some on my Volkswagen a few years back. They fit amazingly well and are made of high quality 100% neoprene (wet suit material) They look really nice, you just leave them on all the time and they completely protect the seats. They also don't block side airbags and are designed specifically for your car. They aren't cheap though.

If you're just looking for a quick and easy solution for the front seats then you can find a wide selection of covers at your local Wal-Mart, Target or Autozone etc.

Just got a set the other day, they are great. As stated though, not cheap. Ended up costing me $519 for front, back, and headrests. Really nice for post workout too.

I'm not sure myself, but will the 07 and 08 Fit seat covers (Mugen or what have you) fit the 09 fit?

Thanks
